#Lakers Podcast

Lynn Markham joined the show to talk about his new book, LAKER TAILS Volume 1: The Ultimate Bedtime Fanthology, the first ever illustrated Lakers children’s book. Before that, thought, Lynn took us through some funny moments in his life as a Laker fan--from trash talking to the son of the owner of the Denver Nuggets to creating his own Laker Nation club at BYU (Recorded 11/09/2020).

On this episode, we first start it off by highlighting some high points that went on this last week including Pau Gasol (and his wife) and Rob Pelinka’s visit with the Bryant family, and the news of the 2020-21 season starting on December 22nd. On the next segment, we dig deep into the “Dynasty” discussion with LeBron James and Anthony Davis wearing purple and gold. With a title under their belts, is this a dynasty in the making? Finally, on the last segment, we discuss the recent reports about Chris Paul wanting to go back to Los Angeles, and reports about the Lakers interviewing BYU’s Yoeli Childs and Charleston’s Grant Riller. We also talk about Jalen Smith, and joked about how the Lakers will draft the next AD or Trae Young with the 28th pick. (Recorded 11/05/2020). Audio Credit: MOKKA, Lakey Inspired, Chick Hern. On this episode, Ioua, Mckay and Janweb start it off by congratulating the Dodgers for winning the 2020 World Series Championship and at the same time make fun of the Clippers for being the only team not having a single trophy (even Chargers have a AFL title and LAFC with the 2019 Supporter's Shield). We then pivot and talk about Rob Pelinka's comments on pairing a star with Anthony Davis for the future. On the second segment, we discuss the reports about how the 2020-21 season will look like and give our take on whether starting the season on December 22nd is a good thing. We also dive into some of the draft prospects, Desmond Bane and Tyrell Terry, who we heard this week the Lakers were interested in drafting at the No. 28th spot. On the third segment, we finish the episode out by talking about the latest rumor that the Clippers are interested in stealing Rajon Rondo from the Lakers. (Recorded 10/29/20).

Special Episode on the Lakers' journey to winning No. 17 and how this Laker team was able to do it with all that’s gone on. Honestly, it was one of the toughest seasons: Losing Kobe & Gigi, the pandemic, the season stoppage, the social justice movements, sacrificing time away with their family in the Bubble and so forth. How this team has persevered through these circumstances, through the criticisms it received and challenges it went through and how that all culminated to them hoisting the Larry O-Brien Trophy at the end of the day made this championship special. Everything will be said in retrospect but that’s okay. This team really did it! They really made a perfect story book ending, despite everything that went on. The story of this Lakers team this season will be a season that we’ll always remember. (Recorded 10/17/2020).
