After watching 17 weeks of football, we’re now heading into the final week of the regular season, and I have to say, it’s been a great year. We’ve laughed together (at the officiating), we’ve cried together (at the officiating), and now, we might watch Gardner Minshew get to the playoffs together, which is a miracle that none of us deserve.

I have no idea which teams will be benching their starters, I have no idea if bad teams have mentally checked out and I have no idea why they’re even playing some of these games, like Patriots-Jets. Just give both teams a loss and move on (That game is one of only three being played in Week 18 that will have zero playoff implications).

A month and a half ago, the idea that the Buffalo Bills would be competing for the AFC East seemed unlikely at best.

Sitting at 5-5 hours after a Week 10 loss to the Denver Broncos, coach Sean McDermott made the decision to fire offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey. Buffalo had more questions than answers. At that point, the Miami Dolphins were 6-3.

The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans will face-off in a “win-and-in” scenario for both teams in the final week of the NFL season.

Few people expected either team to make the NFL postseason, but now one of them will secure a berth on Sunday. The winner of the game also has a shot at being crowned AFC South champs if the Jaguars fall to the Texans.

The season is slipping away from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Sunday’s gut-wrenching loss to the three-win Arizona Cardinals moved the Eagles to 11-5 after starting the season 10-1. They have dropped four of their last five. A win over the lowly New York Giants last week is the only thing staving off talk of a complete and total collapse.

Both sides of the ball are to blame for different stretches.

The offense scored fewer than 20 points three weeks in a row to start the skid. Jalen Hurts didn’t look confident, the passing game overall was defunct, and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson insisted on turning away from the run game for drives at a time for no discernable reason. They weren’t a cohesive offense.

Things have turned around the past two weeks with a couple of relatively easy matchups with the Giants and Cardinals. Still, nobody is confusing this Eagles offense for the dominant unit it was a year ago.

The Baltimore Ravens clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC and did so in convincing fashion. Six days after a blowout win against the 49ers in San Francisco, the Ravens followed it up with a 56-point performance against the Miami Dolphins in Week 17.

Just two weeks remain in the 2023 NFL regular season and there’s still plenty to be determined. Only the 49ers and Lions have clinched a division title, meaning the division races in the entire AFC are still up for grabs.
