Joseph Dunn is well known in regional, national, and international francophone circles. He has presented in English and French at conferences and political and economic trade missions in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe. He is often featured in Francophone print and broadcast media and documentaries as a leader in the French and Creole language movements in Louisiana. He is regularly quoted in academic journals and publications and is known as an outspoken advocate for the development of educational, professional and economic opportunities for these heritage language communities.  

After three years as Executive Director of the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL), he began work as an independent tourism & cultural entrepreneur. He has held positions at the Consulate General of France in New Orleans; the Office of the Lieutenant Governor; the Louisiana Office of Cultural Development; the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association; Laura: A Creole Plantation; and the Louisiana Office of Tourism. 

Internationally, Joseph has twice worked as a product development and interpretation consultant with Parks Canada. He participated in the drafting of the dossier that led to Louisiana’s acceptance as an observer member of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie, the second-largest international body of nations and regions after the United Nations. Joseph’s primary role today is to oversee the communications, public relations and marketing efforts at Laura: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site, highlighting the unique history and reality of Louisiana’s diverse mosaic of French and Creole-speaking populations.

Joe Dale is an independent languages consultant from the UK who works with a range of organisations such as Network for Languages, ALL, The British Council, the BBC, Skype, Microsoft and The Guardian. He was host of the TES MFL forum for six years, former SSAT Languages Lead Practitioner, a regular conference speaker and recognised expert on technology and language learning. He has spoken at conferences and run training courses in Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, the Far East and Australasia. He was a member of the Ministerial Steering Group on languages for the UK coalition government and advised on the Linguanet Worldwide project for The Language Company. He created ICT activities for the new Institut Français, ALL and Network for Languages Primary French Project Niveau Bleu, Blanc and Rouge courses and was short-listed for a NAACE Impact Award in 2013 too. Joe supported the Erasmus Plus project Conflict to Cooperation with 5 European countries and is currently involved in the Supporting Schools Reform in Algeria project through the British Council. He was recently described in a Guardian article as an ‘MFL guru’ and ‘the man behind the #mfltwitterati.’.

Heidi Trude is a French teacher at Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville, Virginia. She has fifteen years of experience teaching every level of French from French 1 through AP French Language and Culture. She created an international partnership between her school and Lycée-Bazin in Charleville-Mézières, France, to engage her students with the French language and culture. Furthermore, she possesses multiple educational technology certifications and she is a master at integrating technology meaningfully into the world language curriculum. She also provides technology training for the faculty at her school and she presents her innovative ideas at professional conferences such as the Foreign Language Association of Virginia (FLAVA), the Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT), the Northeast Conference on Teaching Foreign Language (NECTFL), the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF), and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). Heidi serves as the President of FLAVA, and serves as a member of the SCOLT Board of Directors. Heidi is the 2017 Region IV Virginia Teacher of the Year; the 2017 FLAVA David Cox World Language Teacher of the Year; the 2018 SCOLT World Language Teacher of the Year and 2019 ACTFL Language Teacher of the Year finalist.

Stephanie Carbonneau, a middle school French teacher from Maine, has a Masters degree in Teaching Languages. She is known for her “Glow and Grow” approach to language learning in a mostly deskless environment that focuses on interactive communicative lessons, using authentic resources with CI strategies. Stephanie is co-creator of a Manie Musicale, now serving 3,000 schools both in the states and internationally. 

Michelle Fournier 

Michelle Fournier studied French language and literature at Smith College and spent her junior year abroad in Paris.  Following graduation, she was an assistante d’anglais in Clermont-Ferrand, France.  She taught high school for 22 years and now teaches at Falmouth Middle School in Falmouth, Maine.  She is a teacher leader in the state of Maine for many years, helping to bring proficiency-based teaching to classrooms throughout the state.  She is a member of the Alliance Française du Maine, AATF-Maine, and is secretary of EMME (Educators for a Multilingual Maine).  She was a Fulbright Exchange teacher in Bayeux, France in 2006-2007.   Michelle and Stephanie co-founded Manie Musicale in 2017. Michelle is married and has two adult children, a dog, and a granddog.  When not working on Manie, she enjoys making homemade jam, macarons, and other tasty treats.  She practices yoga and meditation and loves to read, travel, and play cards with her husband.
