  • Leader - A Definition, Part II: Divine Responsibility

In this episode, Dan and I discuss the second aspect of the definition of leader that we are working through: divine responsibility. Underneath the umbrella of responsibility, we discuss the burden that leaders feel and the reality of accountability. Every leader will have to give an account to God for how they lead His people. If you are a leader, you are responsible; and if you are responsible, you are accountable.

  • Leader - A Definition, Part I: Divine Capacity

Everyone seems to have a different idea of what a leader is. Is everyone a leader? Can every one at least become a leader? In this episode, Dan and I give a definition for a godly leader and begin to unpack the first element of the definition: divine capacity. Simply put, not everyone has the capacity to be a leader. There is nothing wrong with God designed hierarchy.

  • Stories of godly leadership: An interview with pastor JD Summers

In the third episode in this series on leadership, Dan and I interview Dan's pastor JD Summers. JD provides some incredible insight into pastoral leadership, especially those things which characterize really effective spiritual leaders. And when I say effective, I mean effective in honoring God and shepherding His sheep.

  • Stories of godly leadership: An interview with Al Negen

This is the first episode in a series on biblical leadership. The current cultural moment has revealed a failure in many church leaders. In this first episode, I and Dan Rudman interview Al Negen, a time tested godly leader. Most of the episode is Al's story and upbringing.

  • Canada's Bill C-4 and Biblical Sexuality and Identity

Canada just passed Bill C-4 criminalizing conversion therapy. The Bill's definition of conversion therapy clearly encompasses the act of preaching the gospel to an LGBTQ individual and calling them to repentance. It also seems to be broad enough to encompass simply preaching from the pulpit what the Bible says about homosexuality, sexuality, and biblical identity. This Bill is a clear and direct attack on Christians. Pray for our Canadian brothers and sisters in Christ.

  • Common Grace: Various means of grace

As I continue in my series on common grace, I touch on further means of common grace. God put within our bodies and within this world a common grace potential. Moreover, God's common grace is seen most clearly in certain families, certain upbringings, certain types of education, and certain vocations. This means that common grace is not equal. Some receive more common grace than others. Finally, common grace undeniably extends through the Word of God and through the Church. The non-believer benefits from living in a Christianized culture. The non-believer benefits when he lives according to Christian morality.

  • Common Grace: The Noahic Covenant

As I continue in my series on God's common grace, I focus specifically on the inception of God's common grace in this episode, which is the Noahic Covenant. As common grace is God's general and temporal favor towards humanity which restrains man's sinful nature, the Noahic covenant serves to provide the necessary means to give stability to human beings moving forward in human history. Of incredibly importance in the Noahic Covenant is God's institution of government and capital punishment, both of which restrain sin in unbelievers.

  • Common Grace: An Introduction

In this episode, I begin a new series on the doctrine of common grace. Common grace is a doctrine that must be understood when considering the life and accomplishments of non-believers. Why can non-believers experience the good of creation? Why are non-believers not instantly judged? Why do non-believers have the ability to make superficially good decisions? All of these questions find their answer in the doctrine of common grace.
