Join Sam Pirrotta and Dan Rudman as they continue in their series on biblical manhood and womanhood. This episode marks the first episode in the application portion of the series. Now that we understand what the Bible says about men and women, we can now apply these principles to our lives today. In this episode, Sam interviews Dan and his wife Tina and their close friends Gabe and his wife Missy. These two married couples have lived biblically faithful lives as husbands, wives, and parents. They have a lot of wonderful wisdom on how to live faithfully today.
Join Sam Pirrotta and Dan Rudman as they look at Peter's treatment of the role of men and women in 1 Peter 3:1-7. Not only are women to submit to Christian husbands, but a Christian woman is even to submit to her unbelieving husband. Thus, the pattern of man and woman stretches beyond the purely Christian sphere.
Sam Pirrotta and Dan Rudman continue their series on the theology and pattern of man and woman displayed in Scripture. In 1 Timothy 3, Paul describes the type of man qualified to lead God's Church. In 1 Timothy 5, Paul describes the type of woman qualified to be considered a widow worthy of support from the church and worthy of ministry in the Church. It truly is a description of a Godly woman. The description Paul gives should be the type of woman all women strive to be.
Join Sam Pirrotta and Dan Rudman as they continue their series on biblical manhood and womanhood. In this episode Sam and Dan look at the type of man who is qualified to lead God's Church as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.. As the man is the head and leader of the home, so is the man called to be the shepherd of Jesus's bride.
Sam Pirrotta and Dan Rudman continue their series on manhood and womanhood. In this episode, they look 1 Timothy 2:8-15 which is known for Paul's prohibition towards woman teaching doctrine to men in the local Church. Furthermore, Paul affirms motherhood as the sanctifying sphere of womanhood. Though many people dismiss the clear teaching of this passage as cultural, Paul grounds his command in the creation design of Genesis 1-3 necessitating it application to today.
Sam Pirrotta and Dan Rudman continue their look at the role of men in women as expressed in the New Testament epistles. In this episode Sam and Dan look at the profound roles of a husband and wife within a marriage in Ephesians 5:21-33 and Colossians 3:18-19. The roles of a man and woman in a marriage mirror Christ's relationship with the Church. In that way, a confusion in role within a marriage would only distort a proper understanding of Christ's relationship with his bride, the Church, further amplify the importance of living according to God's design for men and women.
Sam Pirrotta and Dan Rudman continue their survey of the passages in New Testament epistles which deal with the roles of men and women. 1 Corinthians 14:33-36 speaks towards a woman's role when weighing prophecy in the public assembly. Furthermore, given the ongoing pattern of manhood and womanhood clearly displayed in Scripture, the text needed to overturn the pattern must be overwhelmingly clear. Is Galatians 3:28 the text that overturns the pattern as so many egalitarians believe? We are not convinced it is.
The New Testament epistles contain explicit teaching on the roles of man and woman. In this part of the series, Sam and Dan are walking through the primary texts in the epistles which speak of manhood and womanhood. Join Sam and Dan as they look at 1 Corinthians 11:2-16, which speaks on a visible expression of woman's submission to the authority of her husband in the public worship gathering.
In this episode Sam and Dan rap up the pattern biblical manhood and womanhood seen in the Gospels as they transition into an overview of the early church in Acts. In the beginning of the Acts another opportunity presented itself to overturn the biblical pattern in the picking of Judas's replacement. Two men were given as options; thus, the pattern was consistent. Sam and Dan also discuss the type of passage that would need to be discovered in order to overturn the role of man and woman already established in three-quarters of the Bible.
