I would recommend this audio book ESPECIALLY if you have youth.

What did you like best about this story?

This is an inspiring book detailing an inspiring history of Africans throughout the diaspora from South America to North America. He speaks on the history of individuals that are not known by many that is worthy of being known. This is a great discussion tool for youth and elders alike.

Any additional comments?

And I love the fact that it's an audio book. Instead of listening to the radio for road trips.....we can listen to our history. Much needed.

A Must Read

Loved reading this book and learning about The Great American Flag and its long journeys, not to mention, the stories surrounding it. Would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves the American Flag as much as I do.

When I sing the National Anthem and put my hand on my heart, I think of a beautiful America - the one with baseball, apple pie and amber waves of grain. I never fully realized the importance of the flag and where it originated, as a sign of power during military conflict.

Mr. Kincaid connects the dots beautifully in his casual story telling without creating a boring history lesson. I will never look at the flag the same again after hearing his story. And even more personal for me, it makes me proud of my community and the patriots who came together to make the largest Great American Flag right here in my hometown.
