The storyline felt too unrealistic. It didn't work for me but I'm not big on girl on girl erotica *shrugs*

Disappointing

This book was not what I had expected. I thought it would tell about a world where girls are kidnapped and sold into prostitution, giving people an opportunity to understand what really happens to them. I was very disappointed and have no idea how to delete this book. I give this book one star because that is the lowest I can rate it, otherwise I would not rate it at all

Not impressed

Apparently this is the author's first novel. Since I can't write, I should not judge so harshly, but dang! The writing was so juvenile. This book is full of simple sentences that make it hard to find any rhythm to the story. I actually stopped. When I began listening, I was intrigued by the initial storyline. However, the real storyline was just too far out there that I could not even think that this was sexy or erotic. Save your money.

I bought it because of the warning

I mean, when you are promised "extreme genital arousal", what can you do?

The thing about erotica is, I'm pretty particular about my tastes. I think most people are. I can appreciate widely varying styles in other genres, but not in erotica. I'm so particular, I usually write my own.

While My Family Sleeps is not as hardcore as I would like. It also moved a little slow, with more rumination over the sex about to happen than actual sex. I guess some people like anticipation. Not me. And maybe there was too much worrying by the main character about whether or not he was cheating, gay, etc.

Now, I loved the set up. The pseudo-incest (gawd, am I really going to submit this review??), the voyeurism, the bi-curious theme...this REALLY should have worked for me.

There is no doubt that this is a well-written story. The author is talented and an okay reader, and some people will enjoy it. But I did not. I feel bad about that, but the fact is, my genitals remained...unaroused.

Hot! Hot! HOT!

Melted my Kindle! Delicious story and the emotion and emphasis delivered from the narration made this well worth the purchase. Highly recommend this author and narrator.

A 12 year old could have written it better. Boring rendition and author could have read it better too!!

Would you listen to Best Lesbian Romance 2009 again? Why?

Yes, most of these stories were so well written and told stories of love that can be understood by anyone (homosexual or heterosexual) we're all entitled to love and the feelings compel us to do things that are sometimes very silly, and at other times very noble. .

What was one of the most memorable moments of Best Lesbian Romance 2009?

There were many since this is an anthology of 22 stories. I did have some I enjoyed more than others but each had it's moments.

What does Alexandra Wilde bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Alexandra Wilde was wonderful with emotions and voices. She's also great at expressing passion and love.

All the stories were good but my favorites which I've already listened to more than once are The Usual, Last Call, In Flight, Eyes, Hyde, Sand Castle Queen, Cuts, Absinthe, In Your Pocket, The Traveler, Sugar and Snow, Melange, Music on the Wind. If you've ever been in love and enjoy hearing about love from more than one angle......this is a very nice collection.
