Whoever Lil Tulip is, she isn't human

I swore I would not write a review on a book of erotica. But I can't not complain about this. I am 99.9% certain that the narrator on this was either a computer-generated voice or a human narrator's voice was altered to sound fake. It was as if the computer-generated recorded voice you get when you call Directory assistance and they ask "What City? What #?" was reading the book. Or the voice on my Garmin GPS that is always telling me to "turn left" or incessantly repeating "recalculating, recalculating" every time I make a wrong turn.

There was no space between sentences and no pauses for breath. Certain words were said at an entirely different rate, inflection and range than the words immediately before and after. And when the voice was supposed to relay a specific emotion, like passion, it sounded even more fake. If there was a human behind the voice of the narrator she should be appalled at the way her voice was "photo-shopped". If it was an entirely computer generated narration then I think that should be stated in the book info. There was nothing listenable, much less erotic about this narration. I have no idea about the quality of the writing or the story. I couldn't hear it.

Good Stories, Bad Storyteller

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend this book in written form. The narrating for the audio version is almost too much to bear. After listening to the introduction to the book, I almost didn't go further. It is the individual stories that kept me interested. Short stories but to the point with each one. Effective.

How could the performance have been better?

Less robotic, too staccato. It could be made better by a more natural reading of the stories.

Bend over and listen

I will be honest I thought this was about people in customer service getting into compromising positions. Instead it was about spankings, not my fetish. Yet, I liked it. It was four stories and they are by different authors. All four were strong good stories. I especially like the title story Customer Service, which I believe was written by James Taylor. It would be nice if audible would give a list of all stories and there authors along with editors whenever they do collections. If I read something from an author of a short story I like then I always look for a book by that author and if I like a collection then I try to find more collections by that editor.

Narration was surprisingly good. Story is a classic. A safe bet for fans of old smut

Started interestingly but becomes too repetitive!

After a promising beginning this Victorian romp just becomes a catalogue of Eveline's conquests, and believe me she is not fussy, seems to be attracted to every man she meets, regardless of their station, looks or age! There are one or two quirky scenes early on; the idea of a Victorian Miss visiting a 'Health' appliances shop is quite intriguing, however in the end it's very 'samey' and all gets a little boring so that one doesn't care one way or another what happens. Quite well read in a breathless manner.

Very erotic, which makes it exciting. Overlaps A Literate Passion quite a bit. I think there should be note of this somewhere. Who wants same book twice? And Amazon return policy, ha, have had no luck with that.

Pushing the boundaries

This book is taken from Ninâs journals and focuses on her relationship with Henry Miller and his wife, June. Nin writes in the most poetic, dreamy way. She longs for sensual experiences and, despite her happy marriage, finds herself mesmerized by June and drawn to Henry. She also likes to feel desired by other men. Her expansive command of language flows with great ease, and I find her writing inspiring. I was drawn into the story of this complicated triangle (or quadrangle). These were fascinating, creative, worldly, explosive artists pushing the boundaries of acceptance and art.

The book WAS NOT creepy and it had a nice story line to it. I have listen to this book 3 times and IT IS A GOOD SHORT STORY. I like Audrey Jones and Rance Durand the story worked good with both of them in this book. The story was different but a good book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
