In the late 70s and early 80s, several Midwestern states were plagued by a serial killer who preyed on hitchhikers and troubled youths. He was dubbed The Highway Killer and The Interstate Killer by law enforcement, but we now know that Larry Eyler was responsible for the brutal torture and murder of, at least, 21 young men and adolescent boys within just a two year time span. In this episode we’ll cover Eyler’s early life, escalation of violence, murders, arrests, trials and capture. This one has some heavy trigger warnings: child abuse, kidnapping, drug use, attempted rape, brutal torture and dismemberment, and the murder of an animal.
