At the same time, David Copperfield is in the final stretch of his 25-year MGM Grand run, with fewer than two weeks remaining before closing one of the most established residencies in Las Vegas history. The episode opens with what’s new in Las Vegas, starting with David Copperfield ending his 25-year run at MGM Grand on April 30, closing one of the longest-running residencies in Las Vegas history. At the same time, the Hard Rock Guitar Tower continues rising on the former Mirage site, with construction approaching its full 660-foot height and a targeted 2027 opening.

  • Illenium Sphere Residency, Great Vegas Beer Festival, Jeff Dunham | Las Vegas Live

Las Vegas shows this week are led by the Illenium Odyssey residency at Sphere, alongside the Great Vegas Festival of Beer and Jeff Dunham live at Planet Hollywood. In this episode of Las Vegas Live, Adam Torres breaks down what to do in Las Vegas right now, plus two major updates in the city: the Hard Rock Guitar Tower rising on the former Mirage site and the opening of Cadence Crossing Casino in Henderson.

The episode opens with What’s New in Vegas, starting with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas construction update. The new guitar-shaped tower is now 36 floors up, blue glass has already been installed across much of the lower structure, and the project is moving toward a fourth quarter 2027 opening on the former Mirage site. The scale matters here, this will become one of the tallest hotel towers on the Strip and the first Native American-owned casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

The second major update is the opening of Cadence Crossing Casino in Henderson. Boyd Gaming has opened its first brand-new casino development in the Las Vegas Valley in more than 20 years, built inside the fast-growing Cadence master plan community. That makes this more than a local opening, it is a meaningful development story for the broader Las Vegas market.

On the entertainment side, Illenium’s Odyssey residency at Sphere anchors the week with a fully immersive experience designed specifically for the venue’s wraparound LED environment. The Great Vegas Festival of Beer brings more than 100 breweries to the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center, while Jeff Dunham performs at Planet Hollywood as one of the week’s most accessible headline shows.

Other highlights include Jimmy O. Yang at the Encore Theater, Las Vegas Aviators baseball in Summerlin, Vegas Golden Knights home games at T-Mobile Arena, College Basketball Crown quarterfinals at MGM Grand, The Notebook at the Smith Center, Area15 and Omega Mart, and the Wizard of Oz experience at Sphere.
