We all think Pastors get a hall pass and are exempt from adversity or trauma.  Our guest Alan Clayton is here to discuss quite the contrary.  He experienced rejection and depression when his first church failed in his home town.  His wife was diagnosed with a potentially fatal acute chronic pancreatitis, while raising three small children.  His daughter fought through the emotional trauma of an abusive relationship and a broken engagement which led to a downward spiral of destructive behavior.  Hear about his journey through those times of darkness and the dawn of healing and success of a thriving church for 25 years.

J. D.'s dark times far exceed many of the hardships that most of us will ever face.  The loss of a spouse or child is one of the most devastating experiences a person can undergo.  He lost his first wife, the mother to his four children, to breast cancer in 2012, then lost his second wife to a brain aneuyrism in 2019.  Along the way, J. D. owned a rodeo magazine and was an agriculture teacher at their local school, where he currently teaches today.  His journey as a single father of four has pushed him to his limits and presented many challenges, but he always held onto to his Faith in Christ and his kids are his rock.

Her mother was murdered in her home on Valentine's Day 2001.  Angela discusses receiving that phone call from her father and her world crumbling at her feet.  After months and years of processing the loss and the emotions, she wanted to honor her mother's memory and decided to start her own company and created a luxury cashmere clothing and linen company.  Today, she is a mother, is in the process of publishing a book and has also started a wellness movement for women.
