Alex is back after the All-Star break and with two weeks in the books, there is lots to talk about. To break everything down, Jack Richardson of the Future Sickos Podcast joins him. The two begin with highlighting some key injuries since the last recording which includes Drake Batherson and Joshua Norris. Going over the losses, they look at how it impacts the team's depth but also how the Senators have actually fought through it nicely.
Alex and Jack also discuss how the Ottawa Senators season is a weird one because it feels like a "lost" season, but there is still obvious improvement made. This is unlike past seasons where a top draft pick is what is needed. Instead, you want to see actual growth from the team that gives confidence going forward. Finally, they have a long discussion on the Senators' defensive pairs, a very common topic lately. Is there a way to move on from Nikita Zaitsev this year and what would it cost to do so?
Alex and Chace are back and recording before NHL All-Star weekend. However, before they can highlight anything that happened from there, they need to look into some much more important issues. That being Chicago Blackhawks owner Rocky Wirtz snapping on two reporters when asked about Kyle Beach. Alex and Chace give their thoughts on it and just why this helps show the owner, who represents the organization, has learned nothing from this whole process and wants to sweep it under the rug. It's a shameful look on the league and team.
Switching to some actual hockey content, the guys focus on the NHL All-Star game. They recorded this before the weekend itself so they only previewed the weekend. But the bigger focus was the overall lack of excitement itself. It's pretty telling when two of the most diehard NHL fans have no passion to tune in. So, how can the NHL improve the weekend as a whole? Finally, they look at a new General Manager hiring and wrap up with a game of "Where Are They Now?"

On a chilly day in Hamilton Ontario playing on concrete, the Canadian Men's National Team gets a huge win over the United States Men's National Team. An early goal set the stage for a tough afternoon for the USMNT as they had to deal with a team that was happy to sit back and soak up pressure. The USA had a lot of possession but don't do much with it. Is this down to the players or coach Gregg Berhalter in being married to his system? Did he wait too long to bring on substitutions? Or was it all wrong from the start instead. Do the USA have any shot at grabbing the top spot? Or is this all about Canada from here on out?
Sean and Erik also go around CONCACAF and discuss Costa Rica's hard-fought draw with Mexico at the Azteca. Panama taking it to Jamaica and VAR finally making its presence felt in these qualifiers.
Also, can't forget to mention a HUGE win for La Selecta as El Salvador firmly end Honduras hopes and now give themselves a chance with 9 points to possibly make a leap up the standings. All of this and of course thoughts on what lies ahead for crucial games on Wednesday night as CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying comes down to the wire.
Alex and Chace are back with a very busy week of content. To start, they look to the ECHL and its season-long suspension for a racist gesture. After discussing that, they switch to the Vancouver Canucks hiring a new General Manager and Assistant General Manager. Looking at where the team goes from here and asking the question, does another full rebuild need to happen? As well as an Evander Kane deal and a Jeff Carter extension. Breaking down what it means for each respective team. One deal is unsurprising but disappointing, the other is very surprising and leads to some different questions being asked.
Finally, they get to their NHL Awards as the middle of the season is here. Alex and Chace give their winners and runner-ups for all the big awards. That includes Hart, Vezina, Norris, Calder, Jack Adams, and Selke awards. Discussing why they selected who they did and what each player has accomplished up to this point in time. Let them know if you agree or disagree with their selections.
In this episode of the Necessary Roughness Podcast, host Nikolas Donadic dives into the NFL Championship weekend matchups. He also discusses how the Titans offensive gameplan late let them down just as much as their QB, rants about how the outrage about the NFL’s OT format is long overdue, and weighs in on the NFL coaching carousel. Enjoy the show and join us next weekend for the following episode!
Soccer 2 the MAX returns to discuss the first of three games in this window of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers which begins with the United States Men's National Team getting a win by the slimmest of margins over El Salvador in Columbus Ohio.
Sean Garmer and Erik Watkins ponder if the team perhaps plays more freely without Christian Pulisic starting. What about Jesus Ferriera starting instead of Ricardo Pepe? Has Antonee Robinson solidified his spot as the most vital defender? What matters more? Consistency in victory? Or not doing more against the quality of opposition?
They also go around CONCACAF and look at what happened in the other games, including the huge win for Costa Rica over Panama and what this means for their game against Mexico. Is the USMNT vs Canada game the biggest match left? Will Panama deliver the final blow to Jamaica's World Cup chances?
Alex is back with games to talk about as the Senators are finally playing again! With six games played since he last recorded, there is lots to take a look at as 2022 is now well underway. To do this, Owen Welch of Silver Seven Sens joins him! Together, the guys take a look at the Ottawa Senators Defence, depth, and decisions to make going forward.
Starting with the defence, Alex can't get over just how good Erik Brannstrom looks. Unfortunately, he is on COVID protocol now but they discuss what his absence means and if he has a spot when he is back. From there, they also discuss the depth of the Sens and if they should add a Tyler Toffoli type player this season. Does it make sense to spend assets now or should they wait and target a list of players Owen has circled the free agency? One thing they agree on, is that depth is something that will need to be changed going forward.
