Yes – the name of our show has changed! What was the InRetro Radio Show is now simply the Nancy Duffy show - which is hosted on InRetro Radio among other places. There will be some changes to the show – but really it is still just me so we’re just going to have fun with it!

Houida Kassem joins me live in-studio this week to talk about her new show, "Houida and Friends" (and of course, some of you know by now that I am one of those friends). We’ll talk about how we met, as well as about the things we have and don't have in common – and what you can expect on the show in the future.

And you’re not going to want to miss this week’s music segment – we’re going to share some cover comparisons. It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of over-production, some like it, some don’t – I’m going to have a fun demonstration of what I’m talking about – through the use of a new cover song I came across that I think is fabulous.

Do some people within the influential realm, believe the public to be less than intelligent? Are there too many people manipulating the facts – and because people know this, is this why they’re turned off in matters like voting, and politics? Are people being talked down to?  I have some great clips I want to share with you this week – and then you tell me? –

Also I want to find a way of getting the public interested again – in things like voting, politics and what’s going on in the news around them. So many people have told me they don’t listen to or watch the news. I’ll share a page from one of my past influences about this… in hopes you’ll help spread the word…

And later – We want to debate you! Yes, you, the listener – and I don’t care if you’re Canadian or American! Nor do I care about your political affiliation… Shortly, my American friends, you will choose your president… and Canadians – you’ll be doing the same before long.  This debate is about the art of debate itself – how debate is swaying popular opinion and how the process might be affecting that outcome.

The Music of Jory Nash

We met Jory Nash at a music event we recorded live during our visit to Foster's Inn in Stratford, Ontario. A friend of mine - as well as a talented artist in his own right, Barry Payne of String Bone, had organized an amazing evening of entertainment there which included performances by Emm Gryner, Dayna Manning, his band, String Bone, and Jory Nash. It was one terrific night.

Of all the music we took in that night (and I loved them all!), Nash's performance was one of my favourites. He filled an already crowded house with a bluesy, smokey folk. Tune in to hear our interview as well as listen to the singles from his latest release.
