The government is considering toughening up the laws around random roadside drug testing of motorists. The Ministry of Transport has issued a discussion document , and will take public submissions for the next six weeks or so. Ross Bell, executive director of the New Zealand Drug Foundation joins us to discuss the implications.

WhatsApp users are being told to immediately upgrade to the latest version of the messaging service after the company revealed it had been hacked by what it called "an advanced cyber actor". The government has announced an overhaul of the National Certificates of Educational Achievement, or NCEA. The changes, which will be phased in over the next four years include removing all fees for sitting NCEA and scholarship exams and re-jigging the proportion of internal and external examinations.
