Prince Andrew has reached an out of court settlement with Virginia Giuffre who accused him in a lawsuit of sexually abusing her more than two decades ago when she was 17. Ms Giuffre sued the Duke of York last August, alleging he assaulted her while the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was trafficking her. In a joint-court-filing, lawyers for the two parties say the settlement includes an undisclosed sum. The Prince intends to make a substantial donation to Ms Giuffre's charity in support of victims' rights.

A few weeks ago the Hawkes Bay Regional Transport Committee held an extraordinary meeting to try to stop Waka Kotahi, the New Zealand Transport Agency dropping the speed limit down from 100Ks to 80ks on a large stretch of the Napier to Taupo (toe-paw) highway... Interested parties including Waka Kotahi and the police attended the meeting, and they each put their case forward and the vote went against dropping the speed limit to 80K However, Waka Kotahi were determined to continue with their plans ... and that 80K speed limit comes into force on the 18th February in two days time. New regulations are about to come in for property managers that it's hoped will make it easier for people who are renting to complain if their property isn't up to scratch. The Government's proposing measures that will ensure property managers have to operate by a code of conduct, with compulsory training. The Associate Minister of Housing, Poto Williams, has released a discussion document for the industry to consider. Leanne Tautari from Rent South in Invercargill talks to Karyn about her industry.

Police have warned protesters camped outside Parliament that they're running out of time to move their vehicles to safe parking under the Sky City Stadium. Tow truck companies say they've received threatening phone calls, which began Wednesday night, from local people supporting the protest groups and others from as far away as Canada. One company said the Canadian callers threatened to block their phone lines and prevent them from doing any of their usual work if they were seen towing vehicles from the protest area. Another company said they wouldn't be getting involved for fear of reprisals. Many Lately listeners have asked to hear from someone in the crowd. Shaun Linehan is a protester who's been spending his days delivering donated food to the groups and protesting with them against the mandates. Politically, Shaun describes himself as a liberal with sympathy for the far-right.

Russia Ukraine clash thought to be imminent The standoff between Russia and Ukraine has the world's press surmising that without a successful diplomatic intervention an invasion by Russia into Ukraine could occur within the next 24 hours. Karyn Hay talks to our CNN correspondent Conor Powell.
