Colin McCahon, Gordon Walters, Rita Angus - those are just some of the artists whose work is included in a stunning collection due to go under the hammer next month. The Bank of New Zealand collection was put together in the 1980s by influential art dealer and historian Peter McLeavey and features some of the country's finest artworks, including the last three works painted by Colin McCahon. The Far North has been dealt another blow with news the Mangamuka Gorge on State Highway One won't be opening any time soon. Heavy rain earlier this month brought down 19 slips on the road. It means motorists and trucks will have to take State Highway Ten - which locals say is in no fit state to be taking heavy traffic. Far North Mayor John Carter talks to Karyn about the impact.

AA Insurance has reported a 36.5% jump in car thefts across the country. The company says it's also seeing reports of more stolen vehicles being used in ramraids and opportunistic joyriding. AA's Head of Motor Vehicle Claims Beau Paparoa joins Karyn to discuss what's happening.
