Dr. Jesus Pando, is an astrophysicist and professor at DePaul University in Chicago. He has been a member of the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) for over 15 years and is a board member of the National Society of Hispanic Physicists. Dr. Pando talked to us during his visit to Ohio State.

Dr. Anne-Marie Nuñez is a professor of Educational studies at the Ohio State University. She is lead author of the book Latinos in Higher Education and Hispanic-Serving Institutions: Creating Conditions for Success, published in 2013. In 2015, she co-edited the book, Hispanic-Serving Institutions: Advancing Research and Transformative Practice, with Sylvia Hurtado and Emily Calderon Galdeano, which is an International Latino Book Award winner and the first book to focus on HSIs as organizations and their role in the American higher education system.

Dr. Mary Rodriguez is an Assistant professor in community leadership for the college of Agriculture and Food Science at the Ohio State University. She is passionate about working with women and helping them maintain their agency as they work to establish patterns and behaviors that can potentially lead to food security for them and their families.

Dr. Elena Foulis, Dr. Guisela LaTorre, Assistant Provost for Diversity and Inclusion Yolanda Zepeda and Ms. Lourdes Barroso de Padilla discuss the #meToo and #timesup movement, with a special focus on Latina experiences. #MeToo took force in the Fall of 2017, but it was originally created by activist Tara Burke 10 years ago. This movement allowed a space for victims to voice their experiences with sexual violence. The #Timesup campaign denounces sexual assault, harassment and inequality in the workplace.
