Anna Babel es profesora asociada en el departamento de español y portugués de Ohio State University. Diana Pagán was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois to a Dominican mother and a Puerto Rican father. Her culture played a huge part in her life. She has been part of CAPA for 9 years where she has helped grow Festival Latin@'s budget to attract international headliners and grow it from an event with 15,000 attendance over the 2 day weekend in 2009 to more than 205,000 attendance in 2017 making it the largest free-family centric Latin@ Festival in the State. In 2016 Festival Latino received an EXPY Award for the celebration of its 20th anniversary.

Betty Montero joins us on this episode to talk about her role as a domestic violence advocate. Listen and learn about her work, and how she works with victims to help them find a path for themselves. Ms. Montero has been able to use her story to encourage others about life beyond abuse. Most importantly, she uses her voice to help those who feel left behind and ashamed of their circumstances.
