  • What would I even sell? How to find your hidden skill

After the last episode, something moved. Maybe you were still in the car. Maybe you were lying in bed with your earbuds in. Something you heard stayed with you. Another way. Another path. Income from what you already know.

And then your brain did the thing.

"Ok Salime, I believe you. But I do not have anything anyone would pay for."

I heard it. Because I said the exact same thing. And I was just as wrong as you are.

When I was living in China, people called me all the time. Latin American business owners, friends of friends, expats who had no idea what they were walking into. "Salime, I have a meeting tomorrow with a Chinese supplier, what do I do?" And I would just explain. Cultural differences. How negotiations really work. What "yes" means when it does not mean yes. I did it over the phone. Over coffee. Over Skype at eleven at night. This was 2004. Free. Always free. Because I thought I was just being helpful.

Until a friend told me: "Salime, you are basically consulting. You just do not charge."

That blind spot became the foundation of everything I built after. And you have one just like it. You just cannot see it because you live inside it every day.

In this episode I am going to introduce you to women who found theirs. The sushi chef who perfected her rice technique for over a decade. When I asked her what she was good at, she almost did not mention it. "Everyone in my industry knows how to make rice." No they do not. Not like her. Today she makes seven thousand dollars a month. Teaching rice. Online.

Daniela. The tamales queen. Every Christmas, every baby shower, she was the one running the whole operation. The masa, the portions, the assembly line, the timing when extra cousins showed up. She thought it was just tradition. It was a system. Repeatable. Teachable. Digital.

The girl who learned to laminate brows in her bedroom. The nurse who passed her boards the first time. The teacher whose classroom ran so smoothly everyone kept asking how she did it and she would just shrug and say "I do not know, I just do." All of them sitting on something valuable. None of them could see it.

Different lives. Same pattern. Skill. System. Digital packaging. Income not tied to your hours.

I walk you through four categories where yours is hiding. What you do at work that others struggle with. What you do at home that seems normal but is not. What you create with your hands or your eye. And what you have lived through, survived, or figured out that someone else is facing right now.

And then I am going to name the thing nobody talks about. The cultural pattern that keeps us stuck. "We are family." "I am not going to charge her." "I do it out of love." And I love that about us. I do. But there is a difference between giving a gift knowing what it is worth and giving it away because it never occurred to you that it was worth anything. One is generosity. The other is a blind spot. And it is costing you.

How many times has someone offered to pay you and you said "no no, it is nothing"? How many hours have you spent helping someone with something you are great at and just brushed it off? How many skills are sitting in your life right now that you have never once considered could be the foundation of something real?

I made you a free exercise called The Skill Finder. It is at latinpreneurs.com/thevault. Four lists. Five questions. Fifteen minutes. By the end you will have your top three sellable skills. Do it this week. Because next week we build on this list.

Topics we’ll talk about today: what can I sell online, how to find a business idea, skills to make money from home, side business ideas for women, hidden skills, monetize your expertise, Latina entrepreneur, digital business ideas for beginners, how to start a side hustle, online business for women, how to make money with what I know, podcast for Latina entrepreneurs.

Vas a conocer a Daniela.

  • I hate my job but it pays well. Now what?

It is 7:14 AM. The engine is off. Your coffee is getting cold. Your badge is in your lap. And you cannot open the door.

Not because something happened. Not because today is worse than yesterday. Today is exactly like yesterday. And the day before that. And the 400 days before that. That is the problem.

That is how this episode starts. And if you felt something reading that, stay. Because this one is yours.

It is for the woman who did everything right. Grades. University. Job. Title. Benefits. The daughter the family points to at every reunion. "She works at an international company." The one everyone congratulates. And the one nobody asks if she is happy. Because she is supposed to already have everything.

But you know what happens in the parking lot at 7 AM. What happens in bed at 2 in the morning. What happens in the shower on a Sunday night when another identical week is about to land on you.

Something inside you is dying. And you do not know how to say it without sounding ungrateful.

In this episode, Salime tells you what nobody told her. Standing in a 14th-floor office in Nanjing, China. Smog so thick she could not see the building across the street. Her boss had just told her she needed to come in Saturday. Again. A friend had organized a get together. And there she was. Staring at nothing. Thinking: "I moved across the world for this?"

She had done everything right. And she was completely empty.

This is the story of how a question she was afraid to ask out loud changed everything. And of five other women who had the exact same moment. In the parking lot. In the office. In the kitchen at midnight. All with careers that looked perfect. All feeling trapped. All thinking they were the only ones.

You are not the only one.

Season 3 of Freedom to Follow starts here. From Stuck to Started. You do not need a plan. You do not need to know what is next. You just need to stop pretending everything is fine.

This episode comes with a free guided journaling exercise called The Parking Lot Reflection. The questions you have been avoiding. What do you actually want? Download it at latinpreneurs.com/thevault.

New episodes every week. If this is your first time here, you arrived at exactly the right time. Welcome hermana.

  • Odio mi trabajo pero paga bien. ¿Qué hago con eso?

Son las 7:14 de la mañana. El carro está apagado. El café se está enfriando. El gafete está en tus piernas. Y no puedes abrir la puerta.

No porque haya pasado algo. No porque hoy sea peor que ayer. Hoy es igualito a ayer. Y a anteayer.

No necesitas saber qué sigue.

Journaling guiado. Las preguntas que has estado evitando. ¿Qué es lo que realmente quieres tú? Descárgalo en latinpreneurs.com/laboveda.

  • EP. 023 (EN) - Everything you're saying yes to that's stealing your freedom

There are things in your life you’re saying “yes” to that aren’t bad, but are quietly stealing your freedom 😮‍💨

In this episode, I take you into a morning in Thailand that changed everything for me. One urgent email, one simple decision, and one question I now use for every opportunity, client, and commitment.

Because not everything that is good comes from God. And not everything that makes money gives you freedom.

Today I’ll show you the filter that helped me stop building a productive prison and start building a business that actually supports my life ✨

It also includes a practical exercise to help you identify what’s draining your time, energy, and presence.

  • EP. 022 (EN) - The money lie your family taught you (without saying a word)

Many of the beliefs we carry about money were never taught to us with words. We learned them by watching.

In this episode, I share a very personal story about my mom, my grandfather, and the quiet pressure of always having to prove that you are enough.

Because sometimes the lie about money isn’t that “money is bad.” Sometimes the lie is that your value depends on how much you produce.

Today we’ll talk about the ideas we inherit without realizing it, how they may be shaping your business and your life, and how to start replacing them with truth so you can build from freedom, not exhaustion 🤍

It also includes a practical exercise to help you identify the “money script” you inherited and begin rewriting it.
