My guests this week are two sisters that have created a brand generated at the intersection of spirituality and fashion. Gabriela Serrato Lone is a Chicana photo activist and co owner of XipiTeca. Currently, she works in the mental health field with individuals struggling with depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Her background as a community organizer has influenced how XipiTeca conducts business with a social justice lens in mind. Adriana her sister is a photographer, graphic designer and creator and co-owner of Xipiteca. This multi-talented mujer has been featured in Hip Latina, Mitú, Fierce Mitú, Hermosaz, voyage LA, L.A. Taco and works for prominent graffiti artist Chaz Bojorquez. Xipiteca was created for all magical muxeres of color. I had the opportunity to have a conversation with them before their big event on Sunday June 9th, 2019. The Love Thyself Festival will be taking place at La Plaza de la Raza in Downtown Los Angeles. They're going to be having many special guests, workshops, and performances all with the theme of self-amor in mind. You can purchase tickets to the festival at LoveThyself2019.eventbrite.com
