Caro and Sonora are joined by poet and artist Nicole Hospital-Medina. Discussion includes growing up as a creative person, the poetry writing process (may or may not include listening to The Doors), advice for new writers, the value of a writing workshop, the benefits of an MFA program, the importance of the Me Too movement (in reference to her experience with a stalker), and trying to get her toddler daughter excited about wearing a mask to school (cartoon characters for the win!). She also goes in depth on the poetry publishing process (including self-publishing vs. traditional publishing), and she even reads an original poem for us!
Her new poetry chatbook Myth America (co-authored by Carolina Hospital, Holly Iglesias, Nicole Hospital-Medina, and Maureen Seaton) is also getting published! If you want to reserve a copy prior to the official release, email [email protected] or visit www.anhingapress.org for more information.
