    As an attorney, a mother and caregiver to an ailing parent, Debra Norwood knows what stress looks and feels like. She also knows where to look for answers to learn resilience and find joy and meaning in many of life’s challenges. As a Certified Laughter Leader and Expert Level Practitioner with the World Laughter Tour, Debra guides her patrons by keynote speeches and workshops that highlight mindfulness exercises and a healthy dose of therapeutic humor and laughter. Her presentations to health professionals, attorneys and students are energizing and enlightening! As a result of the emotional clearing achieved through therapeutic laughter sessions, Debra is able to candidly address the more serious workplace and lifestyle issues that cause absenteeism, compassion fatigue and discouragement.

    As a personal executive coach for attorneys and professionals, Debra is clearly passionate about sharing the latest advances in Psychoneuroimmunology. As a Certified Brain Health Coach with Amen Clinics, she loves to share the good news: there is now evidence that people can change their brains to effectively change their mood, perspective and ultimately, change their lives!

    Debra’s individual coaching helps professionals optimize their memory and cognitive abilities through brain exercises, meditation, mindfulness and nutritional supplements when needed. For serious issues of PTSD, ADD, addictions, depression and anxiety, Debra evaluates and recommends individuals for Amen Clinics brain SPECT scans to review if there is trauma or other causes to explain resistant mental health conditions. Through careful evaluation of her client’s wishes and needs, Debra also creates individualized teams for crisis intervention. This supportive and comprehensive environment of empathy and trust helps her clients regain their humor, optimism, self-confidence and resilience.

    Debra is a member of the Positive Psychology Association, The Association of Applied and Therapeutic Laughter (AATH) and has been endorsed by The Laughter Arts Foundation. As a goodwill ambassador for the Anasazi Foundation, Debra also helps with at-risk youth. She is considered a “Trailblazer” by the World Laughter Tour and is a transformative law advocate and contributor to the American Bar Association endorsed book by J.Kim Wight; Lawyers as Change-makers, coming out in 2017.

    I love me some Rev. Paul Moore.  He is not only a funny, infinitely cool guy, he also one of those people who works tirelessly to make a difference EVERY DAY with those he comes into contact with.  In this interview, we talk about how he uses humor personally and professionally to do the work that needs to be done.  After listening, you’ll be as big of a Paul Moore fan as I am.  ENJOY!

    Paul is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Arkansas, Kansas, and Texas and is a National Certified Counselor and well as a Certified Humor Professional through AATH.
    He has ten years of clinical experience in various setting including inpatient, corrections, and outpatient. He has a Master's degree in Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from John Brown University.
    He is currently pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education at the University of Arkansas and a Master of Divinity from Saint Joseph's College. In addition to his clinical practice Paul is an Anglican Priest who serves in an adjunct capacity for different churches and he is involved in advocacy for undocumented immigrants and worker's justice issues. He is a board member for the Northwest Arkansas Worker's Justice Center.
    He incorporates humor into his religious, clinical, and personal relationships. He considers AATH to be invaluable to his own professional growth and self care.
     
    Paul is also an avid Kiss fan and a doting father to his beautiful 24 year old daughter, Anna.

    Megan is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor in Clinical Mental Health, and a former Health and Wellness Coach.  Her expertise stems from Positive Psychology, Strengths-based Psychology, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the newly recognized, Humor and Laughter Therapy. In the Spring of 2018, she will earn CHP credentials (Certified Humor Professional) from the Humor Academy, which is taught through Portland University and the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor (AATH). Megan received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Arkansas, later returning for her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in hospitals, residential facilities, outpatient offices, and school-based environments. She has served patients and clients with issues ranging from career dysfunction, common life adjustments, and stress overload to those with depression, domestic abuse, sexual trauma, grief and loss, sexual offenses, psychosis, and substance abuse.
