When is the best time to get started?
I’d say, “Anytime.”
There’s not ever a time when you’re too late.
And retirement doesn’t have to end your passion...
In fact, it can give you the freedom to do another great thing.
For me, it was a time to create my podcast and help women in menopause.
Some people prepare for retirement by transitioning slowly…
Either they enjoy new hobbies or spend more time with friends…
Some even consider part-time retirement by working for a few hours and making sure they could go traveling.
A very helpful question to ask ourselves when thinking about retirement is, “What are some of the things I really enjoy?”
And I think planning for your future is a form of self-love.
There’s nothing wrong with putting yourself first…
Or your personal finances.
Have you been putting off saving for retirement because you don’t believe you can save enough?
I can tell you right now that it’s possible to retire with millions of dollars if you just follow the right steps.
In today’s podcast episode, we ask financial coach, hotel owner, podcast host and independent life insurance producer with the Legacy Builder Group, Acquania Escarne to give us some tips.
Acquania started saving when she was 16 and is committed to helping people find financial freedom and build wealth.
During our interview, we talked about planning for retirement, when to start, PLUS:
Tune in to this episode today and know how you can ease your way into building your wealth before retirement.

If you are like most women in menopause, your biggest symptoms are weight gain and sleep disruption.
“I'm not sleeping through the night. At times I wake up hot and sweaty. I look like I am 9 months pregnant and can’t get the weight off.”
“I’m 51, need a good night's sleep with no interruptions due to hot flushes. Getting fatter and fatter.”
“My biggest disruption would be weight gain. I can’t do what I used to and it depresses me. I can’t sleep and it makes me anxious.”
When the reality of struggling with these symptoms affects your overall health, things can start to feel out of control--especially when nothing seems to get you out of MENO-misery.
And then, when one thing works for someone else, do you find yourself comparing your situation to theirs, only to wonder why it doesn’t work for you?
When it comes to tackling MENO-Misery, there is no one-size fits all answer. But you can discover the MENO-Mate way of living that is helping so many women make menopause the best time of their lives.
It starts with understanding one simple phrase:
You are unique.
And while you’re suffering from weight gain and lack of sleep, others are riding the roller coaster of mood problems.
Others are finding it difficult to concentrate.
And many don’t like themselves at all right now.
Every one of us is so unique, and what may work for them may not work for you.
It’s the beauty of being human.
Now, overwhelmingly, the biggest complaint we hear from women is weight gain. And if we are going to overcome the MENO-Misery associated with weight as we age,
It's important for us to really evaluate our relationship with food.
My dad introduced me to potatoes when I was young.
He was cooking one day and I was sitting on the counter and he said, “Here try this.”
It was just a raw potato with salt on it. And I was like, "yum!"
Emotionally, I have associated potatoes with my father and when I find myself craving potato chips, I usually am missing him.
It’s harder now that he’s passed on.
And it helped me to manage the grief of his death.
And even now, I recognize that chip cravings are the emotional yearnings of my teenage self.
But it helps to be aware, and I rarely eat chips now...
Food is not just food.
Ayurveda teaches this principle: no one part of us operates independently from one another.
And Ayurvedic medicine uses unique practices that are all about finding balance in your body.
It focuses on dietary improvements and simple habit changes for lasting improvement.
In this episode, we welcome Ayurvedic doctor and co-founder of the International Institute of Ayurveda, Victor Briere as we learn about a new perspective to health and wellness.
We talk about food cravings and what they mean PLUS:
It's all good to deal with symptoms.
We also want to help you get to the root cause…
Watch this episode and stay to the end to find out Victor's Top 3 Practical Tips to Start Creating Health Right Now!

When you’re in the middle of pain, do you allow yourself to feel it?
For example, when sudden emotions become overwhelming do you let yourself say…
“I feel like I am going crazy from the hot flashes and emotions.”
“My emotions make me feel like I am a teenager with PMS.”
Do you acknowledge how exhausted you feel?
Or do you stuff it down?
We all go through tough times.
But some struggles feel heavier than others and they can shake you to your core.
Physical pains are tough, and so are the mental wounds associated with them.
If, like me, you've been through hard times, then you're probably familiar with feelings of hopelessness...
And the feeling of resisting something new.
Here’s a beautiful truth:
When you feel like you're resisting something, you probably need to move toward it.
I'm still afraid of my workouts, especially the new ones...
But I feel the fear and I do it anyway and I think that is the key...
Allow yourself to feel the feelings but still do it anyway rather than let the feelings that you have hold you back from getting something done.
I talk more about that in today’s podcast episode with Bob DePasquale.
Bob was diagnosed with testicular cancer while he was in college. He also witnessed the 9/11 tragedy firsthand just five days after getting his cancer diagnosis.
Those experiences shaped him and led him to share the message that although life is full of struggles, the learning experience you gain from it leads to growth.
If you're somebody who wants to grow even in these trying times, tune in to this episode!

[33:11] What Bob teaches and who he serves
[36:36] Questions to ask one’s self in finding your purpose
About the Guest:
Bob DePasquale is a motivated, passionate, and engaging communicator. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer on September 6, 2001, while starting college in New York that same year. Five days after his diagnosis, he witnessed the September 11 tragedy, a day that no one will ever forget.
It took him only six months to treat his cancer, but the mental wounds associated with the 9/11 tragedy and the cancer diagnosis took two years to treat. His journey is what led him to share his message with the world. A message that although life is full of struggles, we can all learn from them.

There’s no doubt. Migraines are debilitating.
When they hit, we often have to remove ourselves from daily life.
But did you know that migraine with aura is caused by suppressed electrical activity in the brain and is connected to brain fog?
I’ve heard from so many women about their brain fog and they have said:
“I hate the brain fog and the fact that I can’t concentrate like I used to…”
“Not sleeping. Brain fog. Anxiety throughout my day. I need help ! Please.”
“My biggest problem is the brain fog. People can tell me something and I hear them but it just doesn't register what they said and I always have to have them repeat what they said.”
And here’s the part that the healthcare industry doesn’t talk about: migraines are also connected to brain damage.
In fact, headaches are one of the top reasons why people visit the doctor.
But what if your headache is caused by what you're eating?
And what if what you're eating is endorsed by one of the biggest 'healthcare' organizations out there?
And what if they're wrong?
On this week’s episode of The Menopause Movement Podcast, I welcome back globally recognized nutrition and metabolism thought leader, and New York Times Best Selling Author, Dr. Cate Shanahan.
Dr. Cate and I talk about the relationship headaches have with metabolism and inflammation.
Plus, we go into how the “standard American diet” destroys our bodies' antioxidant functionalities.
We also go into the 3 main ingredients that knock us out of balance and how to stop that for good.
Your body is naturally designed to make menopause easy and prevent headaches.
Find out how by tuning in to this podcast today because you deserve to take control of your body.

Would you agree with me right away if I tell you that you can still live the best life possible while in menopause?
I mean I haven’t stopped believing that you can…
But out of all the times you’ve heard that you can still get your life back, have you heard another voice in your head say…
“I don’t think I can. I’m too busy and I don’t have enough energy.”
“I feel like I don't have a brain most days and can't focus on anything. I'm usually intelligent… but lately I feel like I'm in a fog all the time.”
“I’ve tried everything and I’m not sure if anything will ever work.”
And it sounds familiar, right?
Familiar because you might have heard it from someone before and the words were said to you…
Probably during childhood, growing up, or maybe at home...
Or even from people we trust like friends or family.
The words could sting and then you start questioning yourself like, “Am I good enough for this? Am I qualified to do this?”
And that’s when fear enters the door.
It can be paralyzing.
Would you consider that 98% of what we fear never happens?
Our subconscious mind is so powerful because if we decide we want to see something from a different angle…
We could create our own reality.
All we have to do is start looking for the truth in that.
For instance, if doubt is preventing you from taking the next step towards the best life while in menopause, then the words in your head probably say…
“I’m too old for that program and maybe my story wouldn’t be that interesting in the community.”
It can be easy to accept those thoughts. I know.
What if you also know that over 90% of businesses are started by women over 50? Kids are no longer at home, or there’s more time for hobbies…
And if you share your stories, not only will you help inspire people but maybe for the first time…
They'll start to see themselves courageous.
Which truth would you rather listen to?
Anxiety and low confidence are common during MENO-Misery.
And there’s no one-size-fits-all approach for menopause (even getting rid of the MENO-Belly).
But once you start to feel like you’re getting control over that specific pain point then you could start to look at it with more motivation to take your next step.
You’ll also rediscover courage along the way.
I talk more about that with sought after motivational TEDx speaker, author, television host, and life coach since 1998, Terry Sidford.
Our guest Terry Sidford has seen stories from hundreds of women, and she shares her observations on how they thrived through challenges.
Terry talks about ways you can push through fears and the process of radically loving and forgiving yourself.
I don’t want you to miss knowing what that looks like.
Tune in to this podcast today and find out what’s the smallest step that is impossible to fail to help you find that little slither of courage.
And remember, here at The Menopause Movement it’s all about 1% progress over perfection.

I used to tell myself how much I hated my body.
Ever since I gained weight with my pregnancy, I had trouble loving the body I had.
I was frustrated, disappointed, and frankly, I felt like a failure.
But the fitness industry and social media are constantly showing us their “ideal” body type.
And while the ideal looks beautiful and shiny, we may not appreciate ourselves because we can get stuck in a comparison trap…
Contrary to what you see online, every effort you make is enough!
The road to fitness isn’t about becoming the “ideal,” but it is about starting and being in a place where you let your expectations go to make room for consistency.
In this episode, we welcome fitness trainer Marianna Kane.
We talk about how women can overcome their fear of pain and get back into fitness.
Marianne highlights the issue of perfectionism in the fitness industry and how you can overcome it.
I found that her observations were a lot similar to my own experiences in weight loss.
The advice she gives on how to enjoy fitness and love yourself while making progress is helpful to all of us.
Change your mindset about your body and learn how to start exercising in this episode!

She got into the world of fitness after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis and noticed a fear of pain. Her approach to fitness goes beyond losing weight, and she focuses instead on finding something that feels good, which includes creating a positive mindset and good habits.
