Of all American Serial Killers, Israel Keyes stands alone in his own category of one of the most ambitious and terrifying of all time. Israel would later confess to murdering 11 people across the United States between 2001 and 2012, but only three of his victims have ever been identified. The FBI is convinced that there could be many many more that have never been found. He would target random people from all over the country with no plan in place. This guy was so good at avoiding detection, he would pick places all over by camps sights and other places and burry what he referred to as a “kill kit”.He would also fly to these places and rent a car and then pay for everything in cash, while he had removed the battery of his phone avoiding detections and making him practically untraceable. So how did this intelligent, diabolical man get caught? In 2012 he broke one of his own rules and chose a victim that lived close to him.

On February 1 2012, Samantha Koenig was just finishing up her shift at a local drive-through coffee stand in Anchorage, Alaska called the Common Grounds. She was approached by a man wearing a ski mask.

The man then ordered a coffee, this man was Israel Keyes. He did terrible things to this poor girl but she was his undoing!

He was arrested on March 13th 2012.

After his arrest the interviews began, it was apparent that his motive was sheer pleasure and he was constantly striving to be more effective in his hunting techniques. He took great pleasure in the reliving them and told them. “I’ll tell you everything you want to know,” “I’ll give it blow by blow if you want. I would hunt anything that had a heart beat, I have lots more stories to tell.”

And that he did.
