Daily LAFFirmation: I thank my body by sleeping
How can you help regulate your nervous system by doing nothing? Sleep.
Do you find it easy to get enough sleep each night? As a night owl it can feel challenging.
As an empath or Highly Sensitive Person, sleep-deprivation can affect us even more than non-sensitive people.
Try getting a bit more sleep tonight and see how you feel.
------------------------------
What's a LAFFirmation?
We are choosing to affirm a thought that feels good, breathe, and laugh.
This powerful combination helps us find relief, feel better, and allows more fun things to flow into our lives.
We are choosing to laugh as an exercise for the wellbeing of the mind, body, and spirit.
Laughter Yoga is not comedy. It's an exercises and practice.
The body can't distinguish between spontaneous "real" laughter or simulated laughter. Even if we are simulating (or faking) the laughter, we are still getting all of the incredible benefits of laughter. How cool is that!
Be gentle with yourself.
Remember, choosing to laugh is a practice, and one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.

Daily LAFFirmation: My Sensitivity is a Gift
Breathe in and Laugh
Do you identify as a Highly Sensitive Person? I do.
I'm learning so much more about this topic as an HSP mom to twin toddlers.
There are challenges to being Highly Sensitive as we live in a fast-paced and often noisy world.
But there are also so many gifts.
We are: Empathic, Intuitive, Creative, Kind, Wise.
The list goes on.
Do you see your Sensitivity as a gift?

Daily LAFFirmation: I Have Everything I Need Within Myself
Breathe in and Laugh
We are Human. There are days and times that we may not feel like choosing to laugh as an exercise.
That's ok.
Those are also the times that I remind myself I need this self-care the most.
Know and trust that you do have everything you need within yourself always. Even if that part of you feels like it's hiding...like the pearl in the clam.
Let's smile or laugh together and share our pearls.
Sending you laugh and laughs.

Daily LAFFirmation: I Am Playful
Breathe in and Laugh
Waking up your childlike playfulness is an essential part of Laughter Yoga.
Childlike playfulness is also key to allowing more fun things flow into our experience.
You have it in you. Just ask your 'inner-you' if she wants to play.

Breathe in and Laugh.
I appreciated this Saturday Night Live sketch with Al Franken back in the day.
Today, we are modifying the SNL affirmations slightly and combining it with Laughter Yoga to get the incredible benefits.
Let us know how you feel and what you think about any part of this.

Daily LAFFirmation: I Have the Power to Replace a Negative Thought with a Thought that Feels Better.
Breathe in and Laugh.
How to say goodbye to a Negative Thought?
- Don't judge the thought
- Just acknowledge that it's a thought that doesn't feel great and watch it float away
- Now think of something that makes you feel good (e.g. your pet, favorite food, etc.)
The Universal Laws and the Power of our Minds are incredible.
Have fun with this game of swapping an intrusive thought for a better-feeling one.

Daily LAFFirmation: However I'm Feeling is OK
Breathe in and Laugh
Emotions and Feelings come through us and pass. They are fleeting and they don't define you.
The heavier emotions can give us clues about what it is we DO want (it's most likely the opposite of what we are currently giving our attention to).
We also have the power to move up the emotional scale to find relief and feel better. Laughing is a a quick hack to move up that emotional scale.
