In Mark's gospel, the disciples have a hard time understanding who Jesus really is. Time and time again, Jesus predicts that he will be betrayed, die, and rise again -- and time and time again, the disciples just don't get it. In this scripture passage, the disciples dismiss the news of Jesus's impending death with a debate about which of them is the greatest. But Jesus turns their expectation about who's the greatest upside down using the example of a child. Where are we blind to what's in front of us? What needs to happen so we can see the true story? We will explore these questions and more in worship this week. See you Sunday, in person or online!
