LCC Sunday Messages

An enemy of the church, this man was arrested by the presence of Jesus on the road to Damascus and nothing would ever be the same. His was a life of trials and suffering, but also great victories. God still reaches out to the lost and can change the world through a life yielded to His Kingdom.

At a young age, this man had conquered a giant and become a king, with God's help. His fame and success led him to temptation. Though he stumbled and fell into sin, through confession and repentance God restored this man again. God is still in the business of restoring the broken giving them a heart of worship and praise.

In a land where many had rejected the Lord, God would take a fearful man and raise him up to be a mighty warrior. God still helps us overcome our fears to boldly do His work in a land opposed to Him.

A life of advantages and education left this man empty. Longing to help his own people he took matters into his own hands with disastrous results. But God had big plans for a man humbled by the desert life of a herdsman. He would be raised up to lead a nation from captivity to freedom. God still uses those that humbly surrender to His will, regardless of their past.

A dreamer is betrayed by his brothers. Sold into slavery, his life seemed to be over. But, God ordered the steps of this man who chose to honor God and took him from a prison to the palace. God still uses those who walk in obedience to do great things.

On Sunday, August 19th, 2018 Life Church announced the Building Life Together campaign. One year later, to the day, Life Church received a very exciting email. Pastor Steve shares some great news and asks for continued prayers.

Far from home and family, one man believed God's promise for the impossible. Through many ups and downs, God used this ordinary man to change the world forever. God still uses those who walk by faith and not by sight.

Preparing for the storms of this life is a serious matter. Storms will come. As our series, “Storm Proof” comes to an end, we are reminded that Jesus is the one who still speaks, “Peace! Be still!” We have seen that when the storms of life rage, God is more concerned about our character and holiness than our comfort and happiness. Doubts may come, but doubt is no place to stay, it’s a place to pray. God is big enough to handle our doubts! Going through life, our best laid plans can fall apart. But, it’s in those moments that we pray and praise because just because things aren’t going according to our plans, doesn’t mean they aren’t going according to God’s. I’d rather have my plans fall apart than miss what God has planned for my life. Today, we will see that to truly be prepared we must be in Christ, for in Him we are anchored through the storm!

As our series Storm Proof continues, we have seen that God is with us in the midst of every storm of life. He never leaves us. He is building within us Christ-like character, and He is giving us the faith we need to move in spite of our doubts. This week we will see that in the midst of brokenness and defeat, we need a heart of praise lifted in worship to our mighty Savior! A song in the storm can change everything.

This morning we have one of our missionaries visiting with us, Matt Carns. Matt is a missionary to the United Kingdom with Youth for Christ. Did you know that only 3% of people in the UK attend a church and among the youth, that statistic drastically decreases? In the city of York, Youth for Christ wants to introduce them to Jesus and His Church! Matt’s mission is to support local schools, partner with local churches, and help make disciples. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with Matt and Youth for Christ in the UK? Thank you!
