NO ROOM FOR A PICTURE ON THE BLANK WALL takes an unblinking and compassionate look at a subject that can be difficult and frightening to talk about: Alzheimer’s disease. Last week we talked to the NO ROOM cast and this week we are joined by David R. Remschel, the author of this powerful piece. NOTE: This discussion may get a little spoiler-y regarding some of the shows themes and storytelling devices.

NO ROOM FOR A PICTURE ON THE BLANK WALL takes a hard and compassionate look at a subject that can be difficult and frightening to talk about: Alzheimer’s disease. Roughly 1 in 9 Americans over the age of 65 are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and the number goes up as age increases. It is a completely and irrevocably life altering diagnosis both for the person diagnosed as well as their loved ones. This week we sit down with the cast of NO ROOM and talk about the show, its impact on each of the cast and why it’s important to put light on experiences like this.

You’ve heard us talking about it. Now it’s opening week for (I)SLAND T(RAP), the epic hip-hop remix of the Odyssey by the one and only Austin Dean Ashford. This week Austin is back with us to get us hyped about the show.
We’ve talked a lot about Austin Dean Ashford’s one man stage shows but we haven’t talked too much about his music. This week, we fix that. Tune in to hear Austin talk about his start in music, tell the stories of his songs and hear in full no less than seven – count ‘em, SEVEN Austin Dean Ashford tracks! Featuring the songs SOULA HEALIN’, PHIYA SQUAD, U ARE, GED TO MY MFA, PHREE LUNCH, THIS IS IT and SPIRIT.
THE CAKE, Bekah Brunstetter’s dramatic comedy of love and self-discovery, opens this weekend (February 10, 2023) and we have cast and crew members in the studio this week to talk about the show, its themes, how it’s affected us personally and how much we appreciate intimacy coordinators and the work they do.
