A string of murders begin piling up in Tokyo, as each killing is tied through an X mark on each victim's body. While the killer is caught each time, they seem to have no recollection or purpose. Detective Takabe and psychologist Sakuma are tasked to investigate, however, the connections and clues they rack up only continue to add more dread and frustration.
Kiyoshi Kurosawa's breakout psychological horror feature in Cure marked a significant upwards trajectory in Japanese horror in the late 90's and early 2000's. What would soon follow would be a massive influential following in hits like Pulse, Ringu, and The Grudge.

For the season one finale of Twin Peaks, Kevin and Patrick are joined by two dear friends, Benz Doctolero and Jezer Serafica, to discuss the journey so far into the northwestern town we've come to love and fear. Although it feels like we've just gotten started, there is still much left to uncover in the next installment of our Twin Peaks coverage in season two and beyond.
We hope you've enjoyed your stay, and let's plan to reconvene here soon. Hopefully, someplace where the owls can't see us and the coffee flows just like the falls in front of the Great Northern. And remember, in the words of Cooper, "every day, once a day, give yourself a present."

Many paths begin converging at One-Eyed Jacks but in different areas of intrigue. While the Bookhouse Boys infiltrate the lively and relentless casino, Audrey takes a more subdued and sinister approach by posing as a "hospitality coordinator" to gain entry into her father's taboo organization. In the town of Twin Peaks, manipulation runs rampant as ploys are planted and unraveled, signaling the beginning of the end for the Packard Mill. Just when you thought only the dead are safe, Jacoby receives a call from the once-thought-dead Laura Palmer.

Welcome to another bonus After Dark episode, where we take a break from our usual programming to catch up with one another and talk about anything occupying the space inside our four brains. We captured this installment around midnight after our discussion on Lost Illusions. As per usual, audio issues, substance abuse, and tired half-baked ramblings run amok detailing aliens, dreams, art, and everything in-between.
As always, thank you for listening and we hope you enjoy the discussion.
When two meteorites simultaneously land in the mountains near the town of Fukuoka, a strange set of cosmic events unfold amidst a deadly endemic brought on by drought, where the organs of townsfolk are petrified – causing them to drop dead at a moment's notice. Izumi, a teenage diving prodigy, transfers to a local high school, where she quickly earns the adoration of classmates and the infatuation of two boys, Mao and Ukiya.
What follows is a hallucinogenic and dreamlike exploration into the unseen universe that envelops us all in the guise of a coming-of-age film, weaving and connecting the various dots that make up our existence. With a score resembling the depths of Atlantis and metaphysical imagery to match, Gakuryū Ishii delivers a meditative and transcendental experience unlike no other.
As always, thank you for listening and we hope you enjoy the discussion.
