Dr. Ciara O' Donnell's specialisms are in the areas of curriculum, pedagogy and leadership but in particular teacher professional development . She has had a long and varied career in teacher CPD and As National Director of the PDST she led Ireland's first cross sectoral and multi disciplinary support service. She has worked in CPD since the early days and has lots of insights to share. In this episode, she will chat about the history of CPD, the quality of CPD provision for Irish teachers as well as how teachers' own approaches to CPD can play a key role also.

Patrick Hickey is a primary school teacher from Limerick since 2014. He is also a Google Trainer, Innovator & Coach, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, an Apple Learning Leader, a PhD candidate. He was born with a right congenital femur disorder and this means he has a prosthetic leg and walks using a crutch. Having completed a Masters, he is now undertaking a PHD focussing on the impact of physical disability on teacher identity. He will talk to us about his own journey and findings that are emerging from the study.

Paudie Moore, a qualified teacher since 2015, taught in the UK for 2 years before moving to Dubai in 2017 for another 2 years. He struggled as an NQT and consequently, with his weight and by 23 was also struggling to walk up the stairs with ease. He figured out slowly, how to manage it from 2017. He then spent three years working in the fitness industry in Dubai before returning to Ireland and he has now set up a business as a Teacher Transformation Coach to support the wellbeing of teachers by focussing on exercise, nutrition and lifestyle. He talks to us about his story and how he can help others.
