Bible verse:
2 Cor. 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

What if the next generation of leaders isn't waiting until adulthood... but is sitting in your classes right now?
In Part 2 of our conversation with Doug Franklin, we shift our focus from developing our adult volunteers to developing the students God has entrusted to us. Doug shares practical ways we can intentionally call out leadership in young people by giving them real responsibility, meaningful experiences, and opportunities to grow in their faith.
Whether you're a homeschool parent, co-op director, or mentor, you'll discover simple but powerful ways to equip students to lead with confidence and Christlike character, both now and for years to come.
If your desire is to raise leaders instead of simply teaching students, you won't want to miss this episode.

What if the greatest limitation to your homeschool community isn't a lack of volunteers, resources, or time, but the way we think about leadership?
Every leader wants to build a thriving community, but lasting impact doesn't begin with better systems. Maybe it begins with becoming a better leader. In this episode we are joined by Doug Franklin, founder of Leadertreks, an organization that has spent more than 30 years developing Christ-centered leaders.
In Part 1 of this conversation, Doug challenges us to think differently about influence, intentionality, discipleship, and the kind of leaders we ourselves are becoming. Whether you lead a homeschool co-op or simply your own family, our hope is that you will walk away encouraged and equipped to lead with greater purpose.
If you want your leadership to leave a lasting legacy, start this conversation with your leadership team now.

Last week we uncovered why people often hear something completely different than what we intended to say. Today, we're taking the next step.
Rachel Petty is back to help us put these communication principles into practice. From leading volunteers to navigating conflict, parenting, and strengthening your closest relationships, the goal is to give you practical tools to communicate with greater kindness, clarity, and confidence.
Don’t be surprised if you find yourself thinking about this conversation long after the episode ends.
Have you ever walked away from a conversation thinking, "That is NOT what I meant!" Or found yourself leading a team, parenting your kids, or navigating conflict only to repeatedly feel like everyone seems to be hearing something completely different from what I am trying to say?
Today's guest is going to help us understand why. Rachel Petty from Kathleen Edelman's "I Said This, You Heard That" team joins us to unpack how understanding temperament can completely transform the way we communicate. Whether you're leading a homeschool co-op, working with volunteers, parenting your kids, or simply trying to build healthier relationships, this conversation will give you practical tools to speak in ways that build trust, reduce conflict, and strengthen your community.
You won't want to miss this one.
Thanks for listening! We help homeschool leaders grow lasting community built on Christ, connection, and strong leadership.

Leaders, have you ever felt like you needed someone to talk to but there was no one you felt you could confide in? Maybe you're wrestling with a difficult decision, looking for fresh ideas, or simply wondering if anyone else understands the weight you're carrying. Who do you go to when your board is tired too? What if one conversation with another leader could save you hours of frustration, provide resources you didn't know existed, or simply remind you that you're not alone?
In this episode, we're talking about why every homeschool leader needs connection beyond their own board and how community with other leaders can make this journey worth it!

When you think of a leader, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Someone who is charismatic? Someone who can take charge? Maybe someone who seems to have it all together or is exceptionally smart?
We often mistake these qualities for leadership. While they can be helpful, they don't define a leader. True leaders come in all shapes, personalities, and backgrounds.
When we look at Scripture, we see leaders who were bold, leaders who were hesitant, leaders who were gifted communicators, and leaders who felt completely inadequate. What made them effective wasn't their personality or natural ability—it was their willingness to trust God, follow His leading, and faithfully serve others.
In this episode, we're going to explore three biblical characteristics that set great leaders apart.

A listener recently asked us a question that many homeschool co-ops eventually face:
What do you do when a family wants to participate… but simply can’t afford the fees?
Should co-ops offer scholarships or benevolence funds?
If your co-op has ever wrestled with balancing generosity and responsibility, this conversation is for you.
Bible verse: Galatians 6:2
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

There will come a time when it’s your turn to step down and someone else’s turn to step into leadership, but how do you do that in a way that doesn’t leave hurt feelings, confusion, frustration, or a community that feels unstable?
Too often leaders wait until burnout, conflict, or exhaustion forces the transition. But healthy transitions don’t happen accidentally, they are built intentionally.
In this episode, we’re talking about The Art of Passing the Torch, practical strategies for both offboarding current leaders well and onboarding new leaders with clarity, support, and confidence so the mission continues long after your season ends.
