We had a great day in the area of gender diversity and women in leadership, as the majority have elected our first female Vice President, Kamala Harris, who is a woman of color.  You might not also be aware that we have a Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, CMSAF JoAnne S. Bass, that is a FIRST as she is a female of a different ethnic background.  This year has been filled with ups and downs and with changes that must be celebrated, we are still seeing the reality of firsts, in the area of women leaders in higher position.

What can we do to change this so we can see more women representation and gender diversity?

This week has been stressful and I found myself at the end of the week wanting to say "No" but my guilt was telling me to push through it.  This guilt came from feeling as if I don't honor a commitment, it would look bad but what about the commitment to MYSELF.  Self leadership is a MUST as a leader which includes creating boundaries to allow you to rejuvenate mentally, physically, socially and spiritually.  My question is will you do that?

On October 11th, I walked the virtual stage to earn a B.A. in Criminal & Social Justice.  The reason I went back to school was driven by a young student that needed support after losing their scholarship due to teen pregnancy.  As I spent over a year closing out my classes, I realized the importance of the journey I was on even from a educational and leadership development standpoint.  On this episode, learn the 5 reasons leaders should constantly aim towards learning more, to BECOME a leader that people are loyal to rather than one that people QUIT.
