As we talk about better alternatives to the hustle in this episode, we're exploring things like your belief systems, your "why," and your values.
Topics covered in this episode include:
The relationship between your business and your passion
Why we glorify the hustle
The art of rest and recovery
Why hustling doesn't work
Inviting more balance into your life
Discovering yourself and your true values will bring you more success than hustle culture ever could. Don't believe me? Tune in.

Are you holding onto any values or beliefs from your past that you no longer feel aligned with?
It's okay to let go of old beliefs or change them to reflect what you value now. That's something I've learned throughout my life and career and it's what we're talking about in this episode.
You're joining us in the middle of my book Take The Lead. I'm reading one chapter a week here on the podcast, and this week we're on Chapter 5: Change Your Shirt. You can listen to each chapter individually as standalone episodes, or you can go back to Episode 163 to start from the beginning of the book.
This chapter covers my experience taking over a childcare business as a young mother, the challenges I faced during my early days in business, and the lessons learned that made me a better leader. We're talking about standards and expectations, identity, the characteristics of an effective leader, and being willing to change your beliefs as you learn and grow.
Topics covered in this episode include:
Creating your own rules as a business owner
Overcoming insecurities and other people's judgments
Being willing to change and grow
Tune in to find out what I learned from the early days of my career about showing up as a good leader.

If you listen to the show, you probably know that I have always preferred paid advertising. The entire time I have been in business, organic marketing has not been a strength or focus of mine.
That being said, I did something that made me uncomfortable. I challenged myself to post 30 Reels for 30 days to see what would happen when I actually tried out some organic marketing for my business.
I went into it wanting to prove myself wrong about organic marketing and show myself that it was worth the effort. And so in this episode of Your Million Dollar Side Hustle, I'm sharing the exact results of that challenge and what it means for my business going forward.
In this episode, we discuss:
The three things I learned from posting 30 Reels in 30 days
My honest thoughts about organic marketing with social media
The conversion rate I got from my organic versus paid marketing efforts
The organic marketing I'll be leaning into going forward
Why working with a coach can be a game-changer for your business
How I plan to increase my conversion rate in the future
How I feel about organic marketing after this experiment
I hope you enjoyed my honest thoughts on this experiment! In the end, it solidified why I prefer paid ads so much more than organic marketing.

If you had the power to alter anything in your past, what would you change?
For a long time, I would have told you about the pain, confusion, and loss that I would erase from my life, but now my answer is very different. I wouldn't change anything about my past because those experiences made me who I am today.
In this episode of the Leading Lady podcast, I'm reading Chapter 3 of my book Take The Lead, and as you can probably tell, this is a chapter about learning to embrace and celebrate yourself.
If you want to start from the beginning of the book, go back to episode 163, but you can listen to these episodes in any order!
Topics covered in this episode include:
Learning to embrace your story
Identifying generational insecurities that we've inherited
Why so many of us are existing in survival mode
Everything that you have endured has made you stronger and shaped you into the incredible leading lady that you are today. Tune in to join me in a celebration of our whole selves, scars and all.

Have you ever felt like you had to hide behind a mask to be accepted?
In this episode, I'm reading Chapter 2 of my book Take The Lead. If you want to start from the beginning of the book, go back to episode 163, but really you can listen to these episodes in any order!
This chapter covers some difficult years of my life. We're talking about pageants, high school, female rivalry, masks, and identity.
It's hard for me to revisit the years of my life that were filled with so much insecurity. I did learn a lot from those experiences, but that doesn't make it any easier to remember them. However, now I know that I was able to pull through and discover who I really am. Today I connect with leading ladies like you by showing up as myself, being vulnerable, and sharing my insecurities. That feels a lot better than trying to hide behind a mask.
Topics covered in this episode include:
The masks we learn to wear throughout life
Reconnecting with your identity
Messages we internalize about ourselves as children
Finding your authenticity
If you're ready to take off your mask and show up as your true self, I think you'll love this episode.

If you've ever wanted to know a little more about me and my background, listen up.
In the last episode of the podcast, we started reading my book, Take The Lead, together. Each week, I'm reading one chapter of the book to you here on the Leading Lady podcast. In this episode, we're covering Chapter 1: Values Grow Up.
This chapter is focused on lessons I learned from experiences in my childhood that I have kept, refined, or let go of. We're all shaped by the lessons we learned in childhood, but have you ever stopped to ask yourself whether some of those lessons are more harmful than helpful?
Topics covered in this episode include:
What my early years were like
The power of recognizing patterns and removing yourself from unhealthy ones
Letting go of mentalities that no longer serve you
Join me as I reflect on the childhood experiences that made me who I am today.

This summer, I want to invite you to read my book, Take The Lead, with me. I'm going to be reading one chapter a week right here on the podcast. I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts with you, hearing yours, and getting stuck back into this book that means so much to me.
We're kicking it off in this episode with the prologue. I'll set the scene for the rest of the book, give you an idea of what it's all about, and share some of the themes that are most important to me like leadership, authenticity, and community.
Topics covered in this episode include:
My plans for the upcoming episodes of the podcast
The prologue of my book
The value of stories
I hope you'll join me on this journey as we read my book together, whether you tune in to every episode or you just catch a chapter here and there. Thanks for being here for the beginning!
