Do you have a business bestie?
A business bestie is someone you connect with professionally and you become each other's go-to person when it comes to business development and cheering each other on. You turn to each other for promoting, sharing, advice, and all things business.
If there's anything I learned from my favorite movies and songs growing up, it's that women need best friends. We can all be very different but brilliant in our own ways, and when we come together, we can be an unstoppable force. As the old saying goes, having just one friend who is there for you no matter what is all you really need.
Entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey. There are so many highs and lows and it can be challenging when you are trying to power through it all alone. A business bestie can encourage you to chase dreams, share woes, celebrate wins, and be authentically you.
I am a firm believer that empowered women empower women and forming these friendships can benefit you both in so many ways. In this episode of Leading Lady, I am diving deep into the topic of business friendships and how you can be the best business bestie.
Tune in to learn more about the importance of finding your person and how to show up for each other in an authentic and supportive way.

Why do teams matter in our organizations?

Julie is the president and CEO of the Severn Leadership Group, making the world a better place through virtuous leadership. She spent 20 years serving in the US Navy in various leadership positions in space systems, electronic warfare, and communications, followed by 10 years leading teams in the defense and information technology industries.

Get ready to hear one of the most popular Leading Lady episodes from the past!
Have you ever had a cake pop before? Chocolate is my favorite.
I am such a big fan of Lisa's Cakepops in Severna Park, Mayland, so I decided to interview Lisa Schneiderman in this episode.
Not only did I want to hear all about how she makes the most delicious and creative creations, but I also wanted to hear how she was able to turn a passion into a business later in life!
While Lisa and I definitely touch on the flavors and designs of her cake pops, we mostly chat about how she started a new career after the age of 50, how she knew she could pursue her passion, and the many ways that we can all support a small business like hers.
Lisa is so in tune with her purpose and passion, and I so admire her bravery and dedication to it. I know you will too while you listen.
This conversation will inspire you, motivate you, and of course, make you want to order from Lisa's Cake Pops yourself, so don't miss it!

The definition of kindness is the quality of being generous, considerate, and friendly. It's a simple concept, but one that can be difficult to put into action at all times. Have you ever stopped to think about WHY it's so important to be kind and how it can impact you as the giver?
In this episode, we chat candidly about kindness and altruism. We also dive into the vast amounts of research about kindness and how it can impact our physical health as well as our life satisfaction.
If you weren't already convinced of the value of being kind, then I hope that this episode does the trick. Kindness truly is a quality that benefits the giver as much as it does the receiver. In the uncertainty of our current situations, one thing that we can all control is the choice to be kind. I hope that you will choose kindness and impact the world around you for good.
