This mom's son is named Sawyer, and he has been diagnosed with Down's syndrome now, or down syndrome. Excuse me. I'm pretty sure most of you, my audience, you're smart, intelligent, incredible people."

"Because my doctor had a talk with me. She said, look for the way your body is functioning, what's going to work for you? And again, this is just for me. But I really went back to old school. So bigger breakfast, medium sized lunch and a smaller dinner and a few small snacks throughout the day. And the snacks again, I eat now fruits and vegetables. I do have a little bit of peanut butter, but it's organic, it's really healthy."

"All talk of suicide should be taken seriously and requires immediate attention. And again, suicide rates because people used to think it only would happen amongst certain groups of people. That's crap. Nuh. Pardon my language here. There's not certain group. Well, groups of people, and I think they were saying it in terms of people that are chemically imbalanced, but it can be anybody. Now, how can I find help for mental health concerns?"

"Not to mention someone got the plague, the actual plague, in another county in Northern California here called El Dorado County. And again, these things we haven't seen in a long time because people were inoculated. We had studies that were being done by the Centers for Disease Control, and they were keeping people a lot healthier, frankly. Okay, okay, sorry, y'. All. I'm making sure I'm getting everything on my list here."

So that being said, I made a list of some of the more common challenges that face our elderly and things just to think about, Please, life is hard enough. Let's not make it harder on them. Okay? "Research shows that most people only get half the 4,700 milligrams of potassium they need in a day, which is, in fact, the most recent. United States Dietary Guidelines list potassium as, quote, a nutrient of health concern. Let me repeat that to you. That potassium is listed as a nutrient of public health concern. And that's according to the National Institutes of Health as well. One reason a person would be low in potassium is if they're simply not eating enough from the diet."

"Also we need to go over every student's IEP Individualized Education Plan, or if they have a Section 504, which is a step in between general ed and special ed, where let's say they need just extra time doing a test or going to another room, whatever it might be, but they're not quite qualified for an iep. We need to go over that, make sure all the accommodations, all the equipment, everything is up and ready to go from day one."

"I mean, how successful do you think you're really going to be? Now, let's think about this and the whole zeitgeist of things. Do they really have to eat Brussels sprouts? My goodness. Now, yes. It's great for them to have nutrition, of course, but why not feed them vegetables that they actually want to eat and they like to eat and make it something that is enjoyable so they'll actually do it?"

"What's nice, too, is that it is a huge community event for the whole city. And it was designed to be a homecoming for former residents and a welcoming celebration for visitors, fostering community spirit and showcasing the city's unique culture. And I like that. And that's how I celebrate it. And those have been some of my fondest memories of Fiesta. It's been a lot of fun. I really like it because they have art shows for little ones. They have."
