It is also available for those who have a physical disability that makes it difficult to hold a book, or for anyone really who has difficulty reading regular printed materials, such as a learning disabled person like myself."

"Unlike last year, where I didn't even have a desk for the first couple weeks, I had to beg to get a desk. I come in they're like, make it your home. What can we do for you? How can we make your life better? Wow. Oh, wow. Talk about the mental health aspect of it, because many teachers, right, are not treated that way. They are treated like cows almost sometimes. Come in, get out."

"I've known this day has been coming for a while, obviously, and funds have been lacking. So there's certain things I have not been able to do, but I have really just put everything off. I am stubbornly holding on. I have lived in the Sacramento area here since 2006. And, you know, it's really interesting because I'm very much a cancer. I love being in safe, familiar, and controlled environments."

"But, y'all, I included an article here, and basically, it's an article about a seven year old child, okay, who's learning disabled, colored on the wrong side of the paper. Teacher argued with a child for an hour and 20 minutes. Hour and 20 minutes. Okay. Child got so escalated that, yes, they use this technique, this horrible technique."

"I was visiting my parents and I ran into her at a local supermarket and we went out for dinner. It was really fun and it was really interesting to see how our lives had changed. We both had a difficult time in school. We both had different types of learning disabilities. And it was really interesting to see that we both made it. We were both professionals, even though we didn't have the greatest beliefs in ourselves. Me being a special ed teacher and her becoming a lawyer."
