Obedience to the Rulers

• Obeying the rulers, does this include issues not prescribed in the religion?

• Should we pray behind a sinful ruler? Is the prayer valid?

• What is the ruling on vigilante punishments carried out without consent from the ruler?

• The ruling on those who speak ill of the rulers – the Qa’diyyah Khawaarij* (the “sitting khawaarij” – they do not physically rebel against the ruler, but incite others to do so)

• What is the ruling on those who rebel against the ruler?

Self Defence

• Is it permissible to defend yourself if attacked by a burglar or khaarijee?

• Are you allowed to pursue them if they flee?

• What is the ruling if one dies in self defence against a burglar or khaarijee?

The Sinful Believers

• Can we say that a believer is definitely in Paradise?

• Can we say about a sinner that they are definitely in the hell fire?

• What happens to the one who meets Allah on the day of Judgment with sins? What about the one who has repented?

• When is repentance accepted from a believer?

*Khawaarij – a sect that appeared in the life time of the companions of the Prophet. Their core belief includes: Declaring Muslims to be apostates, to declare the blood and wealth of innocent Muslims to be lawful. They also declare Muslim rulers to be apostates on account of mere sin and thus rebel against them. They are the ideological ancestors of groups such as Al-Qaida and ISIS.
