Sahih al-Bukhari – The Book of Tawheed - Lesson 2 (19/11/16)

The Book of Tawheed

• Imam Bukhari started with the “Book of Revelation” and ended his Sahih with the “Book of Tawheed” – what is the significance of this?

• The chain of narrators, who were each of the narrators? Where were they from? What did the scholars say about them?

• Taqreeb at-Tahdheeb by ibn Hajr is an index of narrators – easy way to find out if a narrator is authentic or not in a single volume (the original book – Tahdheebul kamaal (the book this was summarised from) is about 30 volumes. The original that was taken from was 60 volumes [not printed yet])

• Why would Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas not be included in these books?

Hadith Number 1 & 2:

• The prophet ﷺ sent Mu’adh ibn Jabal to Yemen, calling to Tawheed, then the prayer then the zakaah – showing the importance of starting with Tawheed.

• When did the revelation begin?

• The majority of the content of Makki surahs is about Tawheed and Shirk

• What happens if someone dies upon shirk?

• What year was Mu’adh sent to Yemen?

• Which companion was sent with Mu’adh?
