    • A simple way to teach children the names of the Mothers of the Believers
    • Ibn al-Qayyim in Tuḥfat al-Mawdūd: whoever neglects teaching his child what benefits him has wronged him greatly
    • Choosing a good name for the child; the most beloved names to Allāh are ʿAbdullāh and ʿAbd ar-Raḥmān

    • The groups: the Ikhwān al-Muslimīn, the followers of Ḥasan al-Bannā
    • Their negligence in tawḥīd al-ʿibādah; why "tawḥīd al-ḥākimiyyah" is not a further category
    • Their silence over major shirk: calling upon others besides Allāh and circling the graves
    • The Prophet ﷺ spent thirteen years in Makkah calling to tawḥīd, not seeking rule
    • Their hatred of the Salafī call and its people
    • Cooperation with the people of the Sunnah in one's land

    • The line on seeing Allāh: "Say as he ﷺ said", and the ḥadīth of Jarīr: "You will see your Lord as you see this moon"
    • The ḥadīth likens the seeing to the seeing, not Allāh to the moon; guarding Fajr and ʿAṣr as a means to that bliss
    • The Jahmī denies Allāh's Right Hand, "and both of His Hands are right, pouring down with blessings"
    • The Muʿaṭṭilah: the Jahmiyyah, the Muʿtazilah, and those below them in negation, the Ashāʿirah, Kullābiyyah and Māturīdiyyah

    • Beginning a new treatise: Shaykh al-Islām Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb's explanation of the word of Tawḥīd, Lā ilāha illAllāh
    • The word that distinguishes between disbelief and Islām, the word of taqwā, the firm handhold, and the legacy Ibrāhīm (ʿalayhis-salām) left among his offspring
    • Light on the tongue and heavy on the Scale, yet not mere words: it has a meaning and requirements
    • al-ʿUrwat al-Wuthqā: disbelieving in the ṭāghūt and believing in Allāh (al-Baqarah 2:256)
    • It makes a person Muslim only with knowledge of its meaning and acting on its requirements

    • The second ḥadīth of the sitting, from Ibn ʿUmar: "When you see it, fast, and when you see it, break your fast; and if it is hidden from you, complete the count"
    • The narrator ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar: a Companion son of a Companion, one of those who narrated the most, too young for Badr and Uḥud, present at al-Khandaq
    • A principle: a command indicates obligation and a prohibition indicates ḥarām, unless another text shows otherwise
    • One trustworthy witness is enough to begin Ramaḍān, while ending it needs two, because one is leaving an act of worship
    • When the sky is overcast, completing thirty days of Shaʿbān or of Ramaḍān; fasting on the day of ʿĪd is ḥarām
    • The months are established by sighting, not by astronomical calculation
    • Questions and answers: a sighting from far away, and following trustworthy reports

  • The Wisdom Behind the Descent of Ādam from Paradise – Ustādh Abu Arwa Ali
The wisdom behind the descent of Ādam (ʿalayhis-salām) from Paradise to the earth, a lecture by Ustādh Abu Arwa Ali (hafidhahullāh), from Ibn al-Qayyim's Miftāḥ Dār as-Saʿādah (raḥimahullāh)
    • Every decree of Allāh carries a wisdom, whether or not we can see it, just as a car maker's choices have reasons the driver may not know
    • Tasting the toil and hardship of this world makes the believers value Paradise all the more, for things are made clear by their opposites
    • Paradise is not a place of commands and prohibitions, so the rank earned by obedience, patience and sacrifice is gained only in this world
    • The names of Allāh (al-Ghafūr, ar-Raḥīm, al-Muḥyī, al-Mumīt, al-Malik) need an abode in which their effects appear, and the angels were told "I know what you do not know"
    • Īmān in the unseen, the prophets, the martyrs and the friends of Allāh could only emerge from a life of trial
    • ʿUbūdiyyah (servitude) is the highest station: the Prophet ﷺ chose to be a slave and messenger, and Allāh calls him His ʿabd at the Isrāʾ, in the call and in the challenge
    • Desire and anger are part of our make-up, and Ādam's trial with Iblīs prepares his children to be on guard against the enemy
    • Allāh's joy at the repentance of His servant (the ḥadīth of the man and his lost mount) requires sin and tawbah to occur in this world

  • Principles of the Salafi Methodology (Part 2) – Shaykh Abu Iyaad Amjad Rafiq
Principles of the Salafi Methodology (Part 2), the conclusion of the lecture by Shaykh Abu Iyaad Amjad Rafiq (hafidhahullāh) that began in Part 1
    • Christianity as a dīn of irjāʾ: Paul as a Jahmī Murjiʾ, and the refutation of faith without works found even in the Book of James
    • How the innovators ruin the religion, and why a distorted, altered revelation cannot rectify a society
    • Salafīs call to guidance out of sincere concern for people, as every prophet and messenger did; the charge of hatred is false, for the criticism is aimed at the heads of misguidance and innovation, not the common people
    • Freedom from the ways of the Murjiʾah, the Khawārij, the Rāfiḍah and the Qadariyyah as a great blessing, and the Salaf's saying about being guided to Islām and kept from the people of desires

  • Ramaḍān Reminders 2017: Tawḥīd and Istighfār – Ustādh Rayaan Barker
Ramaḍān Reminders 1438H: nightly reminders after Tarāwīḥ, by Ustādh Rayaan Barker (hafidhahullāh)
    • The slave's two great needs: tawḥīd and istighfār (seeking forgiveness)
    • Tawḥīd is the right of Allāh over His slaves, the purpose for which He created them: "I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me" (adh-Dhāriyāt 51:56)
    • Tawḥīd is the condition for deeds to be accepted: an act done for other than Allāh is rejected
    • Every messenger and every revealed book called to tawḥīd alone
    • Forgiveness is the right of the slaves over Allāh, and every person needs it
    • The conditions of true repentance: remorse for the past, a firm intention to rectify the future, and the means to do so; merely saying "astaghfirullāh" without them is not accepted
