• Children are a blessing from Allāh: either the coolness of the parents' eyes or a source of grief

• If parents do not take responsibility for nurturing their children upon the religion, no one else will, and the children are left neglected

• A young child does not understand what is harmful or beneficial, so habits formed early become his behaviour

• Watch the child's companions and conduct, and choose a good school where belief and manners are protected

• Things are tied to their means: nurturing is not only food, clothing and shelter, and parents will be asked about it on the Day of Judgement
