  • Ramaḍān Reminders 2017: Fasting Is Beloved to Allāh – Ustādh Rayaan Barker
Ramaḍān Reminders 1438H: nightly reminders after Tarāwīḥ, by Ustādh Rayaan Barker (hafidhahullāh)
    • Fasting is beloved to Allāh, with the reminder from Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān (hafidhahullāh): renew the intention that we fast to please Him and to draw near to Him
    • Patience upon the hunger and thirst of fasting, which are difficulties borne in the path of obedience
    • Fasting means guarding the tongue, the sight and the hearing from the ḥarām, not only leaving food and drink
    • Looking at ḥarām images corrupts the fast: a person can end the day with only hunger and thirst and no reward
    • If one may not answer abuse with abuse while fasting, how can he himself be abusive to people?
    • The state of the fasting person should differ from his state when not fasting: he should keep even further from what Allāh has made ḥarām

  • Ramaḍān Reminders 2017: The Punishment of the Grave – Ustādh Rayaan Barker
Ramaḍān Reminders 1438H: nightly reminders after Tarāwīḥ, by Ustādh Rayaan Barker (hafidhahullāh)
    • The punishment of the grave is established by the Book of Allāh, the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ and the consensus of the scholars
    • The Barzakh: the grave as the stage between this world and the Hereafter, and the three stages of a person's existence (the dunyā, the grave and the ākhirah)
    • The questioning in the grave: the hypocrite, who lived among the Muslims for worldly benefit, can only say "I heard the people saying something so I said it", and a window to the Fire is opened for him
    • The affairs of the unseen cannot be grasped by reason: two people may lie in the same grave, one punished and the other in bliss, each unaware of the other
    • The punishment reaches the deceased wherever he died, buried or not
    • It is denied only by the people of misguidance and innovation, while the people of īmān believe in it and seek refuge in Allāh from it

    • The Murjiʾah as misguided innovators, and the ḥadīth of the seventy-three sects
    • The irjāʾ of the jurists: defining īmān as only the statement of the tongue and the belief of the heart, removing actions from it, and claiming that īmān does not increase or decrease
