Sahih al-Bukhari – The Book of Tawheed – Lesson 81 (02/02/2019)

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel, saying, 'Allah loves so and so, O Gabriel love him' So Gabriel would love him and then would make an announcement in the Heavens: 'Allah has loved so and-so therefore you should love him also.' So all the dwellers of the Heavens would love him, and then he is granted the pleasure of the people on the earth." (See Hadith No. 66, Vol. 8)

In this talk to the children of our tuition club, Abu Iyaad discusses the stages of life:

Stage 1 - age 0 until 7

Stage 2 - age 7 until 15

Stage 3 - age 15 until 40

Stage 1 - play and exploration at this stage you have no responsibilities.

Stage 2 - learning for the future. You learn to prepare to become independent from your parents, and become full adults. You should spend more time with your parents to learn from them.

Parents should teach their children, especially Tawheed.

Stage 3 - the most important part of your life. The main part of your life where you will be tested by Allah.

You start to notice changes in your body. You know what is right from wrong and you will be held accountable for your deeds.

Shaykh Fawzaan said there are 4 things you should focus on by the time you are 15:

1. Parents must teach about Tawheed

2. Learn in detail about the religion in a systematic manner

3. Learn a skill or trade so that you can support yourself and your family.

4. Learn about manners

Abu Iyaad explains these 4 points in detail

What is Salafiyyah?

It is the way Messenger of Allah and the companions and to call to it with wisdom and call to that which is best while striving oneself in acting upon what he calls others to.

It is the balanced middle way

“Thus We have made you, a balanced nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger be a witness over you.” 2:143

Shaykh Fawzan said the word Salafi does cause a split, between the Salafis who are upon the way of the Salaf (the Messenger of Allah, his companions and those who followed them) and the people of innovation and misguidance. This is a praiseworthy distinction.

“And I followed the religion of my fathers Ibrahim, Ishaaq and Ya’qoob, it is not for us to associate anything as partner with Allah” (12:38).

We ask Allah to make us from those upon the Madhab of the Salaf.

We do not just gather people, but we call them to the book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, in accordance to the undersanding of the Salaf and the sound creed.

“And the first to embrace Islam of the Muhajirun and the Ansar and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success.” 9:100

“ihsaan” in this verse means “itqaan” means being precise in following them and reference to those who follow them in knowledge and action. So it is upon you to learn the madhab of the salaf and so you can hold fast on to it.

Sahih al-Bukhari – The Book of Tawheed – Lesson 80 (26/01/2019)

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "When Allah ordains something on the Heaven the angels beat with their wings in obedience to His Statement which sounds like that of a chain dragged over a rock. His Statement: "Until when the fear is banished from their hearts, the Angels say, 'What was it that your Lord said?' 'They reply, '(He has said) the Truth. And He is the Most High, The Great. " (34.23)

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Allah never listens to anything as He listens to the Prophet reciting Quran in a pleasant sweet-sounding voice." A companion of Abu Huraira said, "He means, reciting the Quran aloud."

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, "Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection), 'O Adam!' Adam will reply, 'Labbaik wa Sa'daik! ' Then a loud Voice will be heard (Saying) 'Allah Commands you to take out the mission of the Hell Fire from your offspring.'

- Narrated 'Aisha: I never felt so jealous of any woman as I felt of Khadija, for Allah ordered him (the Prophet ) to give Khadija the glad tidings of a palace in Paradise (for her).

• When the angels hear Allaah speak that causes fear in their hearts

• When the fear exits the angels say, “what did your lord say”, they say “that your Lord speaks the truth and He is the most high and the most great.”

• The ruling of beautifying the voice when reciting the Qu’ran

• The ruling for the ones that do not have tajweed when leading the prayer

• Hudayfee has the best voice when trying to learn the Qu’ran

• The narration of when Khadija was given the glad tidings of paradise

Sahih al-Bukhari – The Book of Tawheed – Lesson 77 (05/01/2019)

Narrated Abu Musa: Whenever a beggar or a person in need of something came to the Prophet, he used to say (to his companions), "Intercede (for him) and you will be rewarded for that, and Allah will fulfil what He will through His Apostle's tongue."

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "None of you should say: 'O Allah! Forgive me if You wish,' or 'Bestow Your Mercy on me if You wish,' or 'Provide me with means of subsistence if You wish,' but he should be firm in his request, for Allah does what He will and nobody can force Him (to do anything).

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: That he differed with Al-Hurr bin Qais bin Hisn Al-Fazari about the companion of Moses, (i.e., whether he was Kha,dir or not). Ubai bin Ka'b Al-Ansari passed by them and Ibn 'Abbas called him saying, 'My friend (Hur) and I have differed about Moses' Companion whom Moses asked the way to meet.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "If Allah will, tomorrow we will encamp in Khaif Bani Kinana, the place where the pagans took the oath of Kufr (disbelief) against the Prophet. He meant Al-Muhassab. (See Hadith No. 659, Vol. 2)

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: The Prophet besieged the people of Ta'if, but he did not conquer it. He said, "Tomorrow, if Allah will, we will return home. On this the Muslims said, "Then we return without conquering it?" He said, 'Then carry on fighting tomorrow." The next day many of them were injured. The Prophet said, "If Allah will, we will return home tomorrow." It seemed that statement pleased them whereupon Allah's Apostle smiled.

Today we covered: The Will and the Wish of Allaah

• A recap over the will of Allaah

• It is recommended that you do shafaa’ah (you speak on his behalf) for a person in genuine need

• Allaah will be in your aid as long as you are in aid of your brother.

• One should not say “O Allaah forgive me, if you wish.” Rather one should make du’aa with conviction.

• Allaah does whatever He wills, so you should ask with a firm resolve.

• The story regarding Moses and khidr

o The knowledge of Khidr

o The one who came and asked Moses who was more knowledgeable than him

o Allaah revealed that it was Khidr

o Moses then asked Allaah how he could find Khidr

o Allaah made the fish a sign for him to go and find Khidr

o Was Khidr a Prophet or not?

• The Prophet ﷺ placed a siege upon the people of Ta’if, but did not conquer it

• The Prophet ﷺ forbade continuous fasting

• A Man said to the Prophet, “but you O messenger of Allaah do continuous fasting.”

• The Prophet said, “But who from amongst you is like me?”
