In this lesson, we will learn how to conjugate the Polish verb "iść" (to go) in the present tense.

Last Monday, we had a fantastic live lesson focused on the theme of nawyki (habits). It was a valuable opportunity for VIP members to dive into discussions about both good habits (dobre nawyki) and bad habits (złe nawyki) in our lives and explore how they affect us. As always, VIP members received our email newsletter with guidance, translations, and key vocabulary to support their learning. During the live lesson, members could interact with me directly—whether they wanted to chat or simply listen in.

We also engaged in speaking practice, breaking out into small groups to help everyone feel comfortable practicing Polish in a conversational setting. This allowed for more personal interaction and encouraged everyone to put their Polish into practice!

To enhance accessibility, I’m currently working on adding subtitles to this lesson video, so all members will have an easier time following along and reviewing.

The locative case (miejscownik) in Polish is used mainly after certain prepositions to indicate location, often meaning "in" or "at" a specific place. It’s commonly used with prepositions like w (in), na (on), and o (about).

For most nouns, the locative case changes the ending, often by adding -e, -u, or -ie. Let's look at how this applies to some city names.

• In Warsaw → w Warszawie

Notice that city names like Warszawa and Kraków change to Warszawie and Krakowie in the locative case. This follows typical locative patterns: "-a" endings often become "-ie," and "-ów" endings often shift to "-owie."

If you’re looking for a bit more practice, after about 10-15 minutes, we have a fun speaking session in small groupswhere you can join and practice your Polish with others. It’s a great chance to improve your conversation skills in a laid-back, supportive atmosphere!

But that’s not all! As a member, you’ll also get access to extra short lessons throughout the week to keep you practicing and progressing between live sessions.

For those who want to take their Polish learning to the next level, we offer an exciting in-person immersion experience. You can visit our charming little town and spend one, two, or even three weeks fully immersed in Polish. Our small, family-run language school provides personalized attention in very small groups, so you’ll get plenty of practice and support.
