    HURUMA YA KUHIFADHI DUNIA
    Nyumbani kwetu
    Dunia ni nyumbani kwetu
Dunia ikuwa safi na afya, watu huwa na afya
Mimea na wanyama huwa na afya pia
Sisi hupata kila kitu kunataka kutoka kwa dunia
Chakula chetu, nyuma, vifaa na nguo hutoka duniani
Lazima tuhifadhi dunia ndio iendelee kutupa vitu.
    Dunia ina matatizo
    Tunaweza tengeneza matatizo ya dunia
    TATIZO UKOSEFU WA MAJI
    Tunataka maji tuishi
    WATU WANAWEZA FANYA NINI
    Funga maji unapomaliza kupiga mswaki
    Oga kwa muda mrupi
    Tengeneza mabomba inayo vunja
    Mwagilia nyasi maji kidogo
    TATIZO HEWA CHAFU
    Tunapofungulia televiseni, sisi hutumia nguvu
    Tunapoendesha gari, sisi hutumia gesi
    WATU WANAWEZA FANYA NINI
    Zima taa unapotoka kwa chumba
Weka komputa kwa hali ya kulala usipoitumia
Zima televiseni, ( lakini sio friji)
    Kutotumia gari sana
Tembea ama tumia baisikeri mara mingi
    Ziba kamba za stima
Wacha jua kuleta joto badala ya kuweka joto ya stima
Tumia gari ndogo kutumia gesi ndogo
Panda mimea kusaidia kusafisha hewa ya dunia
Nunua chakula kinacho kua karibu na nyumani
Kwa hivyo magari haitumii gesi kuileta kutoka mbali
    Panda bustani
    TATIZO TAKATAKA MINGI
    WATU WANAWEZA FANYA NINI
    Safisha takataka
    Nunua kitu unacho hitaji
Peana vitu ambazo huhitaji ndio watu wengine wengine watumie
    KUFANYA KAZI PAMOJA

    TAKING CARE OF EARTH
    OUR HOME
    Earth is our home.
When Earth is clean and healthy, people are healthy.
Plants and animals are healthy, too.
We get everything we need from Earth.
Our food, homes, tools, and clothes come from Earth.
We must take care of Earth so it can keep giving us these things.
    Earth has some problems.
We can help fix Earth’s problems.
    PROBLEM, NOT ENOUGH WATER
We need fresh water to live.
Fresh water falls from the sky as rain or snow.
We get fresh water from rivers, lakes, and the ground.
There is not enough fresh water.
    WHAT PEOPLE CAN DO
Turn off water when you brush your teeth.
    Take short showers.
Fix faucets if water is dripping.
    Water the lawn less often.
    PROBLEM, DIRTY AIR
When we turn on the TV, we use power.
Using lots of power makes Earth’s air dirty.
When we drive, we use gas.
Using lots of gas also makes Earth’s air dirty.
    WHAT PEOPLE CAN DO
Turn off lights when you leave a room.
Put computers to sleep when you are not using them.
Turn off the TV (but not the fridge!).
    Ride in cars less.
Walk or ride your bike more.
    Plug cords into power strips.
Let the sun warm up rooms instead of turning on the heat.
Drive a small car to use less gas.
Plant trees to help clean up Earth’s air.
Buy food that grows close to home.
Then trucks do not use gas to bring it from far away.
    Grow a garden.
    PROBLEM, TOO MUCH TRASH
Trash dumps are bad for soil, air, and water.
Plastic trash is a danger to animals.
    WHAT PEOPLE CAN DO
    Clean up litte [...]

    WHAT’S IN THE SKY?
    OUT OF THIS WORLD
    Look up in the sky.
Do you ever wonder what’s up there?
    Let’s find out!
    STARS
On a clear night, you can see many stars.
Stars are objects in space that are made of burning gases.
Stars look small because they are very far away.
    The sun is a star.
It is the only star we see during the day.
Some groups of stars have names.
They look like people or animals.
    THE MOON
The moon is a big ball of rock.
The moon looks like the biggest object in the night sky.
It looks big because it is close to Earth.
The moon does not make light.
The moon looks bright because the sun shines on it.
The sun only shines on half of the moon at a time.
The other half of the moon is dark.
The moon looks different at different times of the month.
    The moon moves around Earth.
We see different parts of the moon’s bright side at different times.
Sometimes the moon moves in front of the sun during the day.
The moon blocks the sun’s rays.
    PLANETS
Planets are big objects that move around a star.
Earth is the planet we live on.
We can see five planets in the night sky.
They are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.
The sun shines on half of Earth at a time.
    The other half is dark.
    Earth spins like a top.
We have day and night because Earth spins.
    Earth moves around the sun.
Earth makes one trip around the sun each year.
The night sky looks different at different times of the year.
    COMETS AND SHOOTING STARS
Comets are bits of dust and ice that move around the sun.
    Comets have long tails.
Shooting stars fly through the night sky.
