This is the final episode on the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus discusses various topics, including harsh judgments, the power of asking, the narrow way, false prophets, and why to follow Jesus' teachings. 

The Sermon on the Mount is Jesus' foremost teaching to His disciples, stressing the life He calls us to live and how to meet life's various challenges. This is not Jesus' only discourse, and to gather a full understanding of what He taught, we need to read all of the em. Many commentators call the Sermon on the Mount Jesus' "most important teaching," but that is typically their bias toward the ethical teachings of Jesus and away from His commands about who and what to believe.

John, for example, has many discourses, quite a few of them focused on believing IN Jesus as the Lord.

This is one of the most important concepts in the Christian Life: God will take care of you--there is one condition, and you can fulfill it merely by deciding to do so, but you have to make that decision on a regular basis. Listen and learn.

This episode details Jesus' expectations and ideals for us--it's what we strive for as believers in Jesus Christ. Jesus even discusses perfection--which is always something we want and for which we reach. Another great Christian, the Apostle Paul, put it like this:

Philippians 3:12-14: "Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren (& sisters), I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Always look to do better than you did, but never look back to your old life. 

This is the next section in our study on the Sermon on the Mount. This episode concludes our study on the beatitudes and moves on to Jesus' teaching on the Law--what He thought of it, what he taught about it, and offers us clear explanations of what we ought to do with the Law in our lives.

This is the second episode on Jesus' Beatitudes--where Jesus explains the disciple's inner nature, and how God blesses him with that. What are the inner qualities and behaviors God blesses? How do I get those? How does that change my behavior? How will people treat me when I'm that sort of disciple of Jesus?
