Altın Portakal Film Festivali, Türkiye

Altın Portakal Film Festivali, 1963’ten beri yılda bir kez Antalya, Türkiye’de düzenlenir. Film gösterimleri ve konserlerden oluşan bir Sonbahar etkinliği olan festival; yüksek kaliteli yapımları üretmek üzere Türk film yapımcılarını teşvik etmesi ve Türk yapımlarının uluslararası platformda temsil etmesi ümidiyle Türk sinemasını tanıtmak amacıyla kurulmuştur. Film festivalinin logosu portakal olup, festivale adını “Altın Portakal Film Festivali” olarak vermektedir.

1985 yılına kadar festival, Antalya Belediyesi tarafından düzenlenmekteydi, ancak o tarihten sonra Antalya Kültür Sanat Turizm Vakfı, festivalin ve etkinliklerin tanıtımı sorumluluğunu üstlenmiştir. Aynı dönemde uygulamaya geçirilen uluslararası bir müzik festivali, Altın Portakal Film Festivali’ne derinlik katmıştır. Daha büyüğünü ve iyisini yapma arayışı içinde olmak, bu platforma müzik bölümün eklenmesi için temel sebepti. Eylül 2002’de festival, Altın Portakal Kültür ve Sanat Vakfı önderliğinde kurulan Antalya Kültür ve Sanat Vakfı ismini alarak bir kurum olmuştur. 2008 itibariyle festival, Uluslararası Avrasya Film Festivali’ni düzenleyen Türkiye Sinema ve Audiovisuel Kültür Vakfı ile müşterek olarak düzenlenmektedir. Bu yüzden görünürdeki pek çok değişimden sonra festival, Türk sinemasını, idarecilerin yardımıyla esas amacına uygun olarak uluslararası sinema pazarına tanıtarak köklerine dönmüştür.

Golden Orange Film Festival

The Golden Orange Film Festival has been held annually in Antalya, Turkey since 1963.

An Autumn celebration full of theater plays and concerts

was first established to promote Turkish cinema, in hopes of encouraging Turkish film producers to bring out high quality work and to help the Turkish productions to enter the international platform of cinema arts.

The logo of the film festival was orange, thereby giving the festival its' name—the "Orange Film Festival."

Until the year 1985, the festival was organized by the Municipality of Antalya, but at this time, the Foundation for Culture, Arts and Tourism stepped up to take charge of the Festival and the promotion of its celebrations.

Bringing into play at the same time, an international music festival to add more dimensions to the Orange Film Festival.

Seeking to make it bigger and better was the underlying motivation for the addition of the music facet to the platform.

In September 2002, the festival became an institution of its own taking the name of Antalya Culture and Arts Foundation under the direction of the Golden Orange Culture and Arts Foundation.

As of 2008, the festival has been jointly organized with the Turkish Foundation of Cinema and Audio-Visual Culture, accompanied by the International Eurasia Film Festival.

So, after many changes in image, the Festival returns full circle to its roots of a cinema festival, promoting Turkish cinema to the international cinema market—back to its original goal—after several side trips with other overseers.
