There is a profound relationship between experiences and learning. What we learn from our experiences provides the context and meaning that empowers us to navigate new situations. 

John Dewey believed that learning was a lifelong process that is constantly evolving from what has come before. This process when well managed, becomes a resource of knowledge that informs our future decisions. 

Experiences can also be non-educative, according to Dewey, meaning they can produce bitterness and anger. In these situations, we must strive to work towards a peaceful transition as we navigate our feelings. If not corrected, our future growth in these areas can be hindered. 

Frequently ask yourself what lessons can you draw from your experience, and how can you use those insights to move forward in your ongoing journey.

In this quote, Mr. Toffler implies that it is not even enough to learn, but one must be skilled at unlearning and relearning. I talk about this new skillset that is relevant to the 21st century where knowledge, data, and information are said to drive the economy.
