Learning to sit still

Do justly, love mercy, walk humbly with thy God. This phrase is used in so many places and appears on many social media feeds but what does it mean? Why are they so important that the Lord requires it of us? What would happen if we did these things? Find out in today's episode.

What happens if we let hate have control of our life? What is the secret to contentment? Which sin are we told to flee instead of withstand? These are some of the questions we will be discussing today using the lives of two Egyptian women and their interactions with one Hebrew man.

Tamar has always fascinated me, her little story is tucked away neatly between Joseph’s betrayal by his brothers and the beginning of his servitude in Egypt. She was a woman who had great courage, doing the unthinkable to attain what was rightfully hers, a child. Tamar was unafraid to reach for her tomorrow and she has much to teach us about claiming the promises of God.

Today we will be talking about the lives of three women, Bilhah, Zilpah, and Dinah. Many have suffered consequences that were not of their own making or been placed in a situation that was uncomfortable. Today I just wanted to unpack their stories and hopefully give you some encouragement. Even if we have made mistakes or suffered a devastating blow, we still have purpose.
