This episode features a fitness industry legend, Larry Indiviglia.  Larry is a life coach, fitness icon, author, father, and grandfather.  He’s had a formidable career in the fitness industry, with many ups and downs like all of us.  Most recently he suffered his own challenges with Cancer, and then experienced the loss of new love in his life to the same disease.  He’s written a book about this experience called “126 days, 11 minutes: Our Love Story”.  I first met Larry in his role as a Mentor and Coach in the Todd Durkin Mastermind, and I was struck by this man’s humility and honest desire to help others grow.

To open season 4 this is a new offering of the Leave Your Mark podcast. It's a dynamic conversation with my good friend and colleague Dom Gauthier.  Dom possesses a massive life experience in the high-performance sport as an Olympic athlete, coach, leader, and businessman.  Our experience together spans many years and many amazing stories, some of which we hope to use to bring color and connection to these powerful conversations. In this episode, I was invited to steward a performance conversation with an experienced group of human performance practitioners around the subject of movement screening, assessment, and intervention.  Having coach Dan Pfaff introduce the session with a 30-minute walkthrough of their Living Screen process (you can find that gem on the ALTIS website (https://altis.world/) was a great introduction.  Taking the insights from the likes of physical therapist Kelly Starrett, chiropractor Jeff Cubos, and athletic therapist Jaime Livingston who all hold professional capacity in performance training as well, was a powerful look at how these different practitioners see and change movement, or when they choose not to intervene.

This episode features Max GartnerMax, former President and CEO of Alpine Canada and now a founding partner of his consulting company GoldMettle which he owns with his wife, former National Team Skier Kerrin Lee-Gartner. Max a native of Linz, Austria, is a former professional soccer player who spent five years at the famed Stams Ski Academy in Austria. After joining Alpine Canada as an assistant coach in 1982 he went on to excel in a variety of coaching and management positions over the next three decades. An outstanding coach and team leader, Gartner spent many years working with both the men's and women's alpine teams. He coached many of Canada’s biggest stars, including Thomas Grandi, Cary Mullen, and Ed Podivinsky and in 1991 the Canadian Ski Coaches' Federation named him Coach of the Year. He is also a member of the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame. Gartner took on the role of Chief Athletic Officer in 2003 and oversaw Alpine Canada's ski racing programs before he succeeded Gary Allan as president in 2010. He remains dedicated to coach education and mentorship and his philosophy of respecting the person, developing the foundation, and empowering the athlete.  He is also a father of two grown women and recently became a grandfather! In this episode, I interview Jennifer Noiles. Jen is a strength and conditioning professional currently acting as the Senior Director of Performance - Staff Development for EXOS. Jen is a Canadian who found herself through her educational pathway eventually seeking residence in the US marching up the ladder of performance with the EXOS corporation.  She has served a number of roles along with the way, finding herself in California, Texas, Phoenix, and Minnesota. In a twelve-plus-year career, she has cultivated many experiences that have shaped the way she thinks and works.
