This episode of Leaving the Grandstand World features a poem, "I Can Hear the Harmony," and a song, "Intimate Mystery." I include a short explanation from my wife, Eva, on the special Holy Spirit inspired way this song was birthed then I conclude with a teaching from my book, A Course in Christianity "Notifications." My new cycle of podcasts renews on the 24th so I am looking forward to continuing to share two episodes per week (each one probably a little longer than these last few have been). I call each of the monthly episodes, a season so don't be confused if you see so many seasons. God bless you!

Today's episode of Leaving the Grandstand World deals with fear. My song today features "Monarch Butterfly," a whimsical look at what happens when a gigantic butterfly invades the area. The poem is entitled, "Fear" and the teaching for today is, "Be Not Afraid," from my book, A Course in Christianity.

  • Halloween and Jesus

    Send us Fan Mail

This was the 13th episode that I've prepared today so I thought I'd share some creativity that involved carnality and its place in this world. The poem is entitled, "We're Leaving Bodies Everywhere;" the song is entitled, "Who Would Think," and the teaching is from my book, The Traveler. It is chapter 17, "Halloween and Jesus."

I hope you'll take a look at the video of this podcast on Youtube so you can follow along with the lyrics to the song and the words to the poem.

We are all rivers either flowing downstream filled with the muck and mire of the world or, going against the world's ways and supernaturally flowing upstream casting worldly cares aside, sharing Godly traits of love, peace, and forgiveness. Flowing upstream is hard because we're going against the status quo but, remember, with God all things are possible so it really isn't difficult, is it?

Today I share my joy through a poem, "I Could Be a River," a song, "My Faith Is in You, Lord," and a short selection from my book, The Traveler, which is about a man who encounters a supernatural Christian mentor whom he communicates with through his computer. It is chapter 29, "The Wishing Well."

Enjoy the Show Notes! This is where I can display the lyrics to the songs and the words to the poetry. From that page you can also play the episode and follow along.

  • My String Theory

Do you believe in Newspaper Dragons? I don't either but I used to deliver them when I was a kid and I see them on the bottom of parakeet cages and blowing in the wind sometimes. They are words we use to describe our fragmented worlds. Fragmented sentences depicting a fragmented world. We can do better than that. Our words can give us life or death. Let's not believe and make true all this fragmentation. Let's believe and make true God's word--His words of life. Good idea, huh?

This episode has a poem, "I Am a Dragon," a song, "I Found That I Know Nothing," and a teaching from one of my books, A Course in Christianity from a chapter entitled, "My String Theory."

The poem (which was initially created as a song) is entitled, "Give Praise to God." It was written by Eva and you will eventually hear these words in  a song sometime in the future. The teaching is from my book, A Holy Hodgepodge. The chapter is entitled, "Flashlight Eyes."

This episode of Leaving the Grandstand World looks into love. God's pure love is often superseded by mankind's convoluted twisted love. The song is, "The Call for Love." The poetry today is entitled, "Sustaining Love" and the talk which is a chapter in A Holy Hodgepodge, is "The Mechanism of Carnal Love."
